The dairy cows in Florida don't last very long. They are replaced because the intensive milking depletes their bodies of crucial minerals.

That was a great video Tay! I was happy to see more of your milking than we have. It's funny how there are always stragglers that you have to go chase up. I think that is some kind of law or something! Brett sitting on the cow was great! I don't know that I have ever seen a cow lay still for that. 😃 I guess that's a perk of the tie-stall barn. They're more relaxed. Keep up the great work!

Taylor I will bet a lot of people think the routine of milking gets awful boring. Any job has it's boring spots but my experience is farm work has so much variety and when working with animals there is always a wrinkle to each day or hour. And if you love what you do.... which abviously you do, it makes the routine easier.

Good morning Taylor, it’s easy to see that you enjoy working with your girls because you always have smile on you face.😊 Those are some beautiful heifer calves that you are raising. It’s going to be fun watching them grow up. Right now you are feeding with half milk and half milk replacer. When do you start feeding them hay? I can see how using sawdust as a bedding material is very beneficial. It provides good traction for your girls and prevents getting a sloppy tail in the face. It’s easy to see your girls are on pasture because they have a nice shiny coat and it gives them some exercise also. Thanks again for another informative video. Keep smiling. 😉

Some of that poop travels a long way .. smilin ... cool to see your process of milking, curious as to how does the milkers suck the milk, why are there two lines that go to the milking apparatus, and maybe show the route of the milk takes when it gets into the tank room .. just an idea for content, and then again maybe you have done that already .... thx for the share Taylor .. as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans ....

Patz corporation out of Wisconsin still makes barn cleaner chain I believe. When we quit milking in 2000 we sold the gutter chain and filled the gutters with gravel for storage purposes. Also from Wisconsin Berg equipment manufacturers chain you can google both places. I know it is a distance away but unfortunately tie stall and stantion barns with operating gutter cleaners are a dying thing sadly.

@@tayfarms I watch two other dairy farm channels and it seems like they dry cows out every so often and then mate them and repeat the cycle and then eventually send them off to the butcher - presumably because they produce less milk.
