When asked about violence in the R-rated film, Todd Phillips said, "Violence in the movie was always meant to be a slow burn. People assume and think it's going to be a really violent movie; it affects you differently. You could watch something like John Wick 3 and there's a much higher amount of violence. We tried to paint it with as realistic a brush as possible so that when it comes it feels like a punch in the stomach. But it's all a balancing act of tone." And when asked about tone, "I think movies are oftentimes mirrors of society, but never molders. We wrote it in 2017 so inevitably certain themes find their way in." When he continued, "It's not a political film" there was laughter in the press room, and he added "for some I think it depends the lens which you view it through." Because it's really sad. Being a party clown and entertaining kiss who are sick and injured in hospital was the only thing that made him happy and life worth it for him. And that one mistake of having his gun slip out of his pocket and then for his co-worker to stab him in the back by not taking accountability for giving him the gun, caused him to get fired. He lost it all and that is what lead to his breakdown. The only thing that made him genuily happy was taken away from him.

He had a few acts of abnormal strength in the movie. Wrestling the folder from the big janitor, punching the thing completely off the wall when he’s punching out, Bashing Randall’s head to a pulp off the wall. I thought it was a cool little nod to him being deceptively strong like the real supervillain who sometimes holds his own vs Batman, but apparently not. Just a random mental patient with tard-strength. Sigh.

Honestly, there's a big reference and meaning behind it. Remember in the ORIGINAL Batman movie, when Joker dances on that church's top? He pulls out a gun which says "BANG" . And it is like a.. comedic scene type thing. Y'know what I mean? And him referrencing "It's a part of my show" ( I forgot what he said just a second ago when I watched this, and I am a lazy idiot to look again. ) It gave me memories. Lmao. I am not very sure if it had to do with anything with it. But man come on, it's memories from childhood.
