I liked Kate Beckinsale's character. She was relatable. Of course, she's super cute too. Not surprised she's maintained her looks. She's only 48. It's not like she's 70. She's a strong actress too. Not the kind of thing many people give a shit about, but some of her facial expressions were just perfect for the scenes. I'd watch a sequel just for Beckinsale's character and acting.

"She has no training of any kind." Well, the movie has her doing yoga, martial arts, and getting military training. So the reasoning for her fighting skillset is perfectly reasonable. I don't know why the movie bothered to even give her this reasoning, because they then have her do various other things, particularly the espionage bits, that there's no reason to believe she could not only pull off, but with an expertise bordering on superhuman. Amazon/Hollywood wants you to say, "Ah, this is the cool scene where she pulls slick sleight-of-hand moves and outsmarts the police," but what we're really seeing is a failure to develop both the character and the scenes. It's perfectly fine for her to trick the police into leaving the office so she can come in, take their IDs and use them to get evidence, but why should _this_ character be able to do it, and why was it so easy? and why was there no emotion evoked from doing this? and why is no one surprised that she was capable of doing it? and why did she come to the decision so rapidly? The questions themselves are virtually irrelevant, because they are not only unanswered but the filmmakers themselves obviously weren't skilled enough or didn't care enough to make those questions or their answers a part of their thinking when constructing the movie. It was never a part of the process. If you have the perspicacity to ask the question, you're not the audience for this film; however, the filmmakers don't understand that even laymen are going to pick up on the problems. They may not be able to articulate its flaws, but the flaws will have the same effect on them that it has on the seasoned writer: It will compel them to disinterest.

His review is actually generous. This movie is badly done in every way possible. Kate Beckinsale really is the only redeeming quality in this movie. The baby scene is not as exiting as you're imagining it. The cop has a gun. The protagonist throws a baby in the air to get the cop to drop her gun to save the baby. The protagonist escapes.

Wait, true it sucked, but you said at the beginning there’s no way she could fight so well etc. I’m guessing you missed the part where she was trained as a special ops “soldier” and somehow her disorder gives her low level super powers (faster, stronger etc than a normal person). You can see it later when she throws a guy around and in her fighting skills. Of course it still sucks Also, it wasn’t the NICU in the hospital, it was the nursery. It still sucked but get the facts right buddy lol Yeh it was very “Wimmen Power” The music was super tacked on agreed. It’s Knee-kon. However Americans say Nai-kon because the Japanese don’t think you guys are smart enough to speak Japanese. Lol 2/10 strong female lead babies, you got your upvote right then.

Adam, I stopped watching your review when I realized you didn’t watch the movie therefore your review is utterly worthless BS. If you did watch the movie, then you were probably watching it half asleep. Your BS revealed itself when you argued, ‘She holds her own without training of any kind….” You need to watch it again, especially the ending then you’ll realize where she got her training. In the future when doing a movie review, make sure to be honest to yourself by actually watching the whole movie to completion.
