I do this swing now. I probably take it a little more than half. It has significantly improved my ball striking. Makes me focus on weight shift and hip turn.

Ever since i tried this drill i would hit further than my usual swing. It feels way shorter even if on camera it doesnt, but somehow me thinking it is shorter makes me strike the ball much better.

Certified good advice! But remember to keep your hands in and club out. Also don’t listen to random KZitem and TikTok advice unless it lines up with something you’ve been told by a coach or similar.

Most amateurs..me included...when told to move their hips more also rotate their shoulders at almost the same time and plane..as he rotates his hips he dips his right shoulder down under the left..but no one ever mentions this relationship

I like your content. Simple explanations, but The hips don’t provide the speed and power. They help stabilize the body/swing. The feet/legs and ground provide the speed as the body rotates. Try this drill off the ground.

I AM NOT HATING WITH THIS COMMENT. I’d actually really like a reply. I’m curious if In this ur lead hip is really “staying against the wall” from your more recent short? I do not wish to critique your swing but rather continue to learn from your videos and swing. But I feel like I don’t understand the wall concept if this passes it’s test.

This has made me realise (i think) is i was bringing my arms back too close to my body so i was shanking it alot, i thought it was fully my hip rotation (which im still working on) but doing the half swing i was able to hit it with hip rotation like really consistently where as when i was doing full swing i consistently shanking it. Would this be correct if i am bringing the club too close to my body it would produce shanks because im not able to create the distance even with correct hip rotation?

After years of struggling with horrible inconsistency with my swing, I started randomly swinging like this at the range(starting the hip rotation while still in the backswing) and instantly noticed I was getting more distance with basically a half swing. Incorporated it into my game have been hitting very well ever since. A buddy commented that I swing like Rahm now, which is how I found this clip.

Bro ur swing is not good, ur dipping your hips… the reason it’s going far is bcuz u put ur whole body into the swing. Good for power, terrible for accuracy. This dude hits 3/10 shots on the fairway and 3 of those 10 are dribbled off the tee 5 yards ahead of him

Well that explains Rahm’s unique swing - the shortest backswing in tour history. You need to be built like a bull with arms like a steelworker for it to work though. For example Popeye or Arnold Palmer on the arms thing.
