(Reuploaded! Sorry, there was something I needed to fix. Thankful to you all for the kind comments on the first upload!)
« WARNING: This video hints at political Jon and Dark!Daenerys. If that's not your cup of tea you might not wanna watch.»
First of all I want to thank Marley aka @lycnna on twitter for the song suggestion. I might have strayed a bit from what she'd hoped but I think this is still on point enough that I can dedicate it to her. Thank you, heda, and I hope you enjoy this!
Second of all, boy, does it feel GOOD to be uploading this! I've been dying to find a way I could incorporate my biggest GOT suspicion in a video, and finally I think I managed to get it out of my chest.
For those who're not sure what I mean (in case I completely failed to convey my message through this project) I don't think Jon's storyline in s7 is as simple as meets the eye. I don't think he's in love with Daenerys and I definitely don't think he intends to give up the Northern Independence for her.
The 'northern fool' and 'just like my father' themes played a bit heavily in this season, and if we are all to believe that despite of all that has happened Jon just went south to be none the smarter than Ned and Robb but just repeat the same mistakes (not knowing how to fucking lie and getting overplayed by Cersei slash falling for a 'foreign' woman and losing his kingdom) then that was the dumbest season ever and we should all be mad that Jon's character was assassinated like that.
However, I don't think that's likely. Kit said Jon becomes kind of a manipulator in season 8 and, well, wanna take a wild guess on who he might be manipulating? hahah. Jon knows, if the white walkers cross the wall they're coming for the North and his family first, he knows they don't really stand a chance, he's seen that all it took for the NK to take down a DRAGON was a single shot...he's desperate. And for those he might argue 'oh but Jon is too honorable for deceit' I'd remind you being a spy was actually his storyline once. He HAS betrayed people and he has betrayed a woman he loved because he put the Night's Watch over her. It's really not far fetched to believe he'd put his Kingdom and his family over Daenerys.
Also their romance was really one-sided and shady on Jon's part anyway. I really don't think the Dany/Stannis x Mance/Jon dynamic going on is positive at all, besides, he DID giver her a death omen and she WAS promised a treason for love.
Anyways, I couldn't possibly fit all the reasons I have to believe Jon's arc this season wasn't just about him being a 'fool' in this video much less in this description so I'll just link some interesting material on the matter:

I hope you guys enjoy this! I had a lot of fun making it and there's so much further parallels/foreshadowing I wish I would have added...sigh. Anyways, remember it's perfectly fine not to agree with a point of view however it's not fine to be rude or disrespectful. As always, I'm open to debate, not really that keen on insults tho!
Be it as it may, thank you for watching!
