The 16th overall pick in the 1983 NBA Draft, Jon Sundvold split his first five NBA seasons between the Seattle SuperSonics and San Antonio Spurs. In 1988, Sundvold was selected fifth overall by the Miami Heat in the expansion draft. In his first season with his new club, Sundvold scorched the nets, coming off the bench to average 10.2 points while shooting a blistering .522 percent from the 3-point line.
Though his career was eventually cut short following a neck injury, Sundvold's 3-point prowess sustained itself for the duration of his abridged Heat career, leading the NBA in 3-point shooting percentage in 1989 (.522) and finishing fourth in 1990 (.440). His 1991 percentage (.429) was good enough for second in the league were he to have appeared in the minimum amount of games to qualify).
In the game featured above, Sundvold finished with 25 points (3-of-4 shooting from the arc), 6 rebounds, and 2 assists in a 101-93 loss to the Houston Rockets.
