Great interview! As an Elvis historian, I am forever grateful that Jonnita wrote this book about her mother and Elvis! Thank you, Jonnita! In doing research for my recent book, ELVIS The Army Years Uncovered, I can tell you that Elvis was in Germany for 17 months. Also, he met Priscilla six months before he left, although he may have told Anita different. I am happy to know Anita recorded the intro for her audiobook before she passed. Thank you all for doing this interview!

Great video! I want to point out a few of the reasons Anita was exceptional in Elvis History which were not explicitly made in the book. 1 - Anita is the only woman in a long term serious relationship with Elvis who did not cheat on him. 2 - Anita had impeccable manners. There is a phone call between Elvis and Anita which you can find on KZitem in which Anita confronts Elvis about dating other women. Even though both are angry, Anita never calls Elvis a bad name or raises her voice beyond normal conversational levels and remains, by today's standards, shockingly civil. If we all could conduct ourselves while arguing as Anita did, the world would be a better place. 3 - Anita never said anything bad about Elvis after the relationship was over. Anita never tried to earn any fame or notoriety or wealth for herself through her association with Elvis. P.S. I had the good fortune to meet Janice Fadel in Memphis during Elvis Week 2023 and had the opportunity for a short conversation. Janice is a warm, welcoming, sweet individual. I hope you do go to Waco and meet Janice yourself.

Incredible interview! Thank you Jonnita for sharing your life and the life of your precious mother with us. I believe if Elvis would have married your mother the trajectory of his life would have been much better and he would possibly have lived a full life while knowing the Lord. He probably would have become a Singer/Evangelist as he knew he had a call on his life. Thanks again.

Her Parents raised a strong, loving, respectful,& Christian Woman as well. I truly enjoyed hearing her stories at the time when she was young and with Elvis. I just finished the audiobook and it was so good. Thank you Jonnita for making the time to record as many stories from your mom to put her’s and Elvis’ story out there. She sounds like a lovely woman and it would have been a pleasure and blessing to know her. Her’s and Elvis’ story was filled with joy and respect and I truly believe she was the one for him…it was so heartbreaking that it had to end. I could just feel her pain as it ended. I’m so glad they saw each other those few times as life went on and were able to talk, hopefully that helped close some wounds for each of them. Jonnita did such a good job writing the book. I’m going to get the hard cover so I can see all the pictures! Enjoyed finding your site Elvis Girls and I look forward to catching up on all the interviews and looking forward to future ones! Billy Smith, Elvis’ cousin, would be a great guest also!

Awww, I didn't know that Elvis talked to Anita again after they had broken up. I love the part when she talked about Elvis asking Anita if she thought they had made a mistake by not staying together? I love that he still had a place in his heart for her. We all think we're making the right choice at the time and sometimes we do have regrets or wonder what it would have been like if things could have been different. That was a sweet story and Anita was right. He wouldn't have had Lisa Marie and Anita wouldn't have had Jonnita and her brothers. God's in control that's for sure. Thank you sharing this video. I would love to read her book someday. ❤❤❤

Enjoyed the interview! I’ll get the audiobook before next weekend! Anita was with Elvis in the most important years of the rocket career taking off. I was almost 13 yrs old when Elvis passed I can still remember my mother telling us at breakfast the following morning. I remember going outside and walked circles around the garage as I cried. I seriously do not think that I’ve ever cried about a celebrity passing away since though often shocked & disappointed whenever we lose iconic people.

Well if Anita ever married Elvis she wouldn’t have gotten what she was looking for. Because obviously Elvis wouldn’t have sex with her after she had a child. She really did the best thing to leave because the livestyle Elvis led was definitely no bed of roses. Using drugs 24/7 womanizing, having his mafia guys living with him wasn’t the live style she hoped for.

Thank you ladies for having the insite to interview Anita WOOD‘s daughter! I did not know there was a book out by her daughter, and I did not know until a few days ago that Anita Wood had even passed away! I was around when Elvis first became known! and over the years, aways thought he should never have let her go for a 14-year-old girl! I’m sure there were times when he regretted it too!! She seemed from videos I’ve seen to have been such a class act. But I also firmly believe that he was forced into marrying the one he married. Don’t know if you girls know the backstory on that or not. I think it’s wonderful what you are doing in carrying on the legacy of Elvis. I was one of his biggest fans and still listen to his music because I don’t think there has ever been another singer like him. It’s a shame he could not have made better choices in his life. I will definitely be reading Jonnita’s book! She seems like a lovely person also also and what a story she has to tell. And I thank her for sharing it. Look forward to more of your videos on KZitem.

It's interesting that you talk about "there must have been a list...if this person calls". I'm curious about this too, because when June Juanico visited Graceland and the movies for the first time seeing Elvis years after the end of their relationship, the guys knew her too. Guys who weren't around int he early days. And she was so surprised by that. I think Elvis kept pictures of his ex's who were important, adn I think he spoke about them often, or told stories about them often enough for them to leave some kind of imprint.

I would say that when Elvis got back to Memphis and been home a while he realised he may have made a mistake about Priscilla but her family had locked him into a sort of trap and he had to see it through Anita and Elvis were so suited to each other. I think it would have worked out for them

Iam a Elvis Fan From germany and iam a Fan since 1985 where i Listen in Radio Elvis for the first time. I was five back then and i now enjoyed your Girls Talk very much. I always liked Anita in the Documentaires and i will never forget telling the Story That she never Saw anybody else so hurt like Elvis was when his mother passed away. And she Said he named her Little satnin or satin. R.i.p. Lovely Anita!❤

Anita was my very favorite Elvis girlfriend, I still think about how different things could have been, maybe more Elvis children. please don't be offended you are so beautiful and it was his own fault that your mom left him.I have read your book three times, thank you so much for all the hard work you did getting that done. Also, I am so happy for your family that your mom and dad found each other, she got the marriage and family she wanted.

Although I didn't know any of them personally, Anita has always been my "favorite" of Elvis' women. Elvis' loss, imo.
