If you want to know what Iceland's like without going there (although you should DEFINITELY go there), just listen to Sigur Ros or Jonsi. The mystic, magic, and bit of kookiness in their music perfectly captures Iceland. Every time I want to go back (all of the time) I just listen to either. I'm immediately transported back. (ill admit this makes my life a little more emotional than it needs to be and i tear up often, but i love it).

The sad thing is that Jon, like many other artists of his caliber, would probably not even pass the auditions of something like American Idol or Britain's Got Talent. No, that is not a critique of his skill and talent, nor any other artist's; it is a critique of people. I do realise that everyone has different tastes, and some won't enjoy listening to this music, but there is an objective factor that doesn't rely on the viewer that people fail to recognise on many occasions: Talent Jon has that

go quiet Dylan Thomas, 1914 - 1953 Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night. Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way, Do not go gentle into that good night. Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. And you, my father, there on the sad height, Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray. Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
