Hi David, I’d like to say big thank you for your help. I did my first PDA and I pass it last week. Just got the driver license today. You’re a great instructor! 👍🏻😎

Binged alot of your videos and passed my PDA earlier today, they gave me a bit of extra confidence to give it a good crack. Cheers.

Congratulations. Well done on passing your PDA. Remember that you have now gone from being the safest you will ever be (two people watching for hazards just before your driving test) to the most dangerous you will ever be (one person watching for hazards with no solo driving experience). Your risk factor has increased 30 fold (3000%) in an instant. Take things easy as you gradually get the hang of solo driving and don't let your ambition get ahead of your ability. Thanks for watching.

Now I understand, if I see bicycle lane and want to turn left, I have to check my left blind spot. All your videos are so great. Thanks David.

It also depends on your speed. If it's completely unreasonable for a bike to be keeping up with you (e.g. if you are travelling at 80 and haven't encountered a bike) you shouldn't be turning your head and taking your eyes off the road if it doesn't make common sense for a bike to be there. But often we are moving slowly in traffic and the bikes might be travelling faster than the cars.

Hi David, I never knew that we need to check blind spot when turning left on that road. thank you so much for this video that I have been waiting for. Any way I watched all your videos but cant find how to drive through busy T junction. I am confused about the position of my car when I stop in the middle ( you said only one car ). If there is a car want to turn right, I will block the car. If the car's position a bit to the right, I couldn't see oncoming car on my left. Thank you so much David...

Only one car is allowed in the middle. If there is already a car out there you have to wait for it to move away first. It's the same principle as turning right at traffic lights without a filter arrow. Only one car at a time. The first car blocks the intersection and you can't enter a blocked intersection!

Hi mate, just a quick question. Let’s say we are turning left on a give way sign it’s a dual lane can we go straight to the left lane if it’s clear but the other right lane is busy with cars? Thanks, Jasa.

Yes you can - as long as the vehicles in the other lane aren't indicating to change lanes. The exception is the corner of Shenton and Grand Boulevard in Joondalup. This exceptional case is covered in the video - and on the ilukadrivingschool.com.au website blog. If you are doing your driving test in Joondalup you MUST be aware of this exception, or you could fail! NOTE: Western Australian interpretation only - check your local jurisdiction if outside of Western Australia.

Hi mate. At 9:47, are we allowed to turn directly to the right lane (not left lane) if the assessor just tells us to turn right? Thanks
@ilukadrivingschool8696

In Western Australia - absolutely! You can choose the lane that you want when turning onto a two lane road - except in the following circumstances. 1) is a roundabout is involved in the turn, 2) if there are two designated lanes for turning either right or left. In this case you must hold your lane. The rest of the time you need to listen clearly to the instruction(s) from the assessor as they may be giving you a big hint as to which lane to position yourself in for the next turn. Otherwise just go to the default driving lane as you turn the corner. No need for an extra indicate for the drift to the far lane - provided that it's one smooth arc. If you don't listen and go to the least appropriate lane and then have to do a separate lane change, you may lose a point in the category of 'Flow'. Again I repeat, this is a Western Australian interpretation. Check with your local jurisdiction if outside of WA. Thanks for watching.

David, at 9.30 once I turned left and there are some cul de sac road. Do you have any video about it? Or could you pls tell me how ? I am a bit confused about drive around cul de sac. Thank you so much.
@ilukadrivingschool8696

Cul de sacs are pretty simple. If you are turning around at the end of a cul de sac make sure you indicate right (because you are turning clockwise) and then check over your right shoulder before swinging around to the right. It's possible that a local resident, delivery driver, postman or cyclist might be cutting across into a driveway on the right from a position right behind you or from your right side blind spot. You only need to indicate right. You don't then need to indicate left as it's not the same as a roundabout. I hope that clarifies it for you.
