Context: Jordan Williams is the OSU wrestler (Orange) and Swiderski is the opponent. Jordan Williams was a bit of an underdog and at the final period he was up 7-2 and decided to coast and play it safe. He ended up being taken down making it 7-5 and he escapes making it 8-5. Well, he then began playing if super conservatively and was given 3 stall calls which gave Swiderski 2 points making it 8-7. Swiderski had Williams at the edge of the mat and the time expired so he was yelling at the ref and pissed he didn’t get the 4th stall call to at least tie the match.

No. He didn't act like a warning plus a point plus a point wasn't valid. Calling another on a hair trigger at the end is a bit too much ref deciding matches. If you have any sustained time stalling...OR that end was a blatant backout...there needs to be a willingness to call what you see, which is different. But the wrestling that worked toward that out of bounds area wasn't running out or backing out of bounds...and he stayed put in his position without backing away at the end. He stayed there for a few seconds. So there was no movement as opposed to backing out...AND wasn't stay still long enough for another call. It's ugly wrestling in the 3rd...TOTALLY agree on that...but it is a win.

I don't know that I saw a sore looser. If I understood the situation, the kid who lost the match understood very well the other guys' strategy, and the adrenaline was pumping hard as he tried not to lose. He's wasn't happy with the outcome but did show great effort and, more importantly, great sportsman ship. Both fighters deserve congratulations in every way for their calculated efforts....

Down 7-2 and decides to get pissed over stalls instead of admitting Jordan was better that day. Casey needs to grow up as a college athlete.

This is why college and high school needs the push out rule. You step out of bounds, I get a point. It is much more effective to force players the engage, even when winning.

@larenzowesley30 oh stop. B There are 1000s of rich black people. You are acting like it's 1905. None of you even know what hardship is these days. Everyone has it easier now. Ever race can be racist. Blacks are just as racist as whites these days. Acting like every black person has a foot on their neck when you can literally make shitty music and act like human shit yet still be rich and famous. Wonder who that applys to most these days?

how the mighty have fallen… pretty sure Swiderski beat Mendez at a Super Match… now he gets bounced out of NCAA’s and the other wins a national championship… something to be said for being humble, working hard, and controlling what you can control

Hoping to make a comeback in a match on stalling points in the last 30 seconds of a match and then acting mad when you don’t get a FOURTH stalling call to give you another FREE point is crazy. You had the first 2 1/2 periods to win and then act like that when you decide to go hard the last 30 seconds is crazy.

Even John Smith walked out in shame of his wrestler and tried to pull him off the mat before his had was raised. Let’s hope Taylor holds his wrestlers to the same standards. I believe he will because Taylor never stopped coming at you, even when winning.

I was at this event. Williams was up 7-2 and somewhere between 2nd and 3rd he got injured. Leg I believe and was a major reason he was “coasting “. His mobility was shot compared to the beginning of the match where he gave Iowa St wrestler fits. If Swderski wrestled the 1st like he did there he would’ve majored Williams.
