José Mourinho joined Inter in the summer of 2008 but only two years later, the Portuguese boss had won a Champions League with the Nerazzurri.
In this video, Mourinho talks you through how he beat Pep Guardiola's Barcelona 3-1 in their Champions League semi final first leg back in 2010. Inter would go on to beat Bayern Munich in the final, winning Europe's prized tournament for the first time since 1965.

@isaac isang Hahahaha typical noob who thinks he's a football master. What if two teams do the same? They can't do so becase they dont know what the other will do. TEAMS NEED TO HAVE A FOOTBALL IDEA, not being anti-football, that's what ruins the sport.

funny thing is, at the time many of the players inter signed were considered "not good enough to be in the top top clubs", they got lucio without too much difficulty, which is an absolute steal, same with Eto'o and Sneijder, who barca and rm considered subpar. what's even crazier is they didn't even spend that much in the treble season, considering the club has had a history of wasting money and not winning trophies under moratti (pre calciopoli of course) that was phenomenal
  • Ini Uni

Yeah... lucio is free i think, they got from bayern munchen... i think they want carvalho but he join chelsea... Lucio is too old in that moment because munchen dont need him anymore... but still play like a monster in the center back with samuel... I think the key they won UCL was milito and eto'o... milito was amazing in that year 🤣

Actually this proves what Mourinho said once ”I don’t coach football players, I coach football teams” With that inter team back then shows how perfect this team was, leading to winning the triple their perfect communication and their amazing qualities providing a fabulous football harmony proving that they are one of the best teams in football history. ( Many people believe that Mou is over, just give him a team with a spirit and you’ll see. He would make a big impact on german football if he coached Bayern Munchen one day , his tactics would suit german players known of dedication on the field.)

Players these days are different than like 5-10 years a go. Many players, especially these "superstars" think that they are above the Coach/Manager. Mourinho is still genius, but he need players who have total submission to him & follow his orders exactly to what he said to them.

May I make a comparison to another sport? Greg Popovich. Both have reputations as fantastic X's and O's managers/coaches, but also as egomaniacs. They run a system that runs incredibly well if players are willing to put the team over all else, and generate a sense of control that many players can find constrictive, which is why some players are repelled. The difference? For almost 20 years, Popovich had a superstar in Tim Duncan to enforce that culture of submission and trust in the coach and President of Basketball Operations (He's essentially occupied both positions since I was born). The thing is, football players move more than basketball players. If Mourinho had one superstar to enforce his position at one club, maybe Chelsea, would he have moved as much as he did? Or is his confrontational style with boards and players alike doomed to repeat a 3-4 year cycle? I don't know the answer. I'm not expecting anybody to know the answer. It's just something to think about, and potentially, spark a discussion on how this might affect this man's legacy.

Wrong backing? I think you mean that in today's context, because apparently football has become to fast, now if u are a club run without too much money to spend, you aren't really winning anything serious against the top dogs, football was more about developing the players, blending in youth with the experience of veterans, but now it's more like buy this guy, replace this guy because he had a poor season, mainly patience has been missing in this game now, you see managers being sacked in months, earlier each manager used to have a project and time to show, that's why nobody likes the legacy teams like city, psg will create, how many players have they developed? None apart from 1-2 exceptions, sad really

@Shreyas Bharadwaj The Chelsea team that Mourinho built was one of the best and continued to win for 6 years after he left. The Real Madrid team reached the semis every time Mourinho was there it was just the matter of time before they would win the UCL. Man u just didn't back him. Mourinho is a tactician and genius. Zidane's man management was what gave the edge to the team

@L S Hey. I don't think that's right. Zidanes winning team was a lot different from Mourinhos. Kroos, Modric, Isco, Bale, Navas, Asensio, Carvajal. I don't know if you've observed. Mourinho never builds a team for long term. They're usually in shambles immediately after he leaves. Happened with Chelsea. Happened with Madrid. Happened with United.

@Shreyas Bharadwaj because his counterattacking philosophy already won him two champions leagues. he tried it at madrid and scored 121 in a single season on route to a 100-point campaign. Guardiola is notorious for overthinking big games so his team basically becomes underdogs every time.

During his first 6-8 years of management, he was the best as a manager. He has now entered a period where the changes in the game is preventing his defending and counter attack team to succeed. I believe, a man of his natural emotion, intelligence and game IQ, will enable him to find another way to dominate other teams and win silverware. Great man manager and tactician.

Superb, Terry said he was the best, most thorough manager you could have, it's evident here. Amazing tactician. Winning the Champions League with Inter was an amazing achievement because they were not the best, second best, third best or even 4th best team in the tournament, but Jose made them fight like Rocky, and his tactical masterclass was what won it for them. Like Fergie, Shankley, Jock Stein etc, he is one of the all time great managers, in my top 3 with Fergie and Jock Stein. Great man and fantastic manager, can't wait to see him back in the dugout.

@Kushagra Singh Shaw is Shaw, and this season, he's been back to his old tricks, Rashford, Martial were under Mourinho, Greenwood was technically a part of the 2018/19 pre-season squad, didn't officially make a debut under Mourinho, AWB was only brought because Valencia left, Maguire was only brought because Smalling left, on loan, Fred, Pogba, Mctominay, Mata, Lingard, Matic, all under Mourinho, Jones, Lingard, Bailly, under Mourinho, so only Maguire came after, and Mourinho wanted him the year before, Dalot, Shaw, under Mourinho, most of Ole's squad, the guys that came after Mourinho, Telles, Ahmed, Pellistri, James, Cavani, Bruno, VDB, only Bruno, was the guy he used, week in, week out, then this season with Ronaldo, Sancho and Varane, Varane been injured, most of the time, so for a 3rd consecutive season, along with McFred, Magalof, came back to haunt us, kept using, (out of form, defensive full-backs), Shaw & AWB, even though he had Telles and Dalot (as we now see, more attacking, more traditional Man Utd full-backs, that bomb forward), never used under Ole, as he was clearly a defensive manager, never stayed away from, Magalof or McFred, Rashford, who was under Mourinho, an undisputed LW option for Ole, same with Bruno in the no.10 role, for most of his 3 years, mainly Greenwood on the RW, the only changes in his 3 years really, was the strikers (from Martial/Ighalo/Cavani/Ronaldo)

Beating them with Real Madrid was way tougher. They literally had to beat points and goals scoring record while wining both away and at home vs Valencia, Sevilla, Atletico and Barça in order to steal that league. That Barça era was something else. Mourinho was at the time the only guy who repeatedly broke them. With INTER, with real in the League Cup and then the Spanish League. No one else was beating that nucleus of players. Not even when they led the Spanish National Team. No one remembers this nor is Mourinho credited for that.

Guardiola picked a team that the prior season had finished third in the Spanish league, after Villarreal, and 18 points behind Real Madrid, which is only the biggest distance ever between Real Madrid and Barcelona. That's the team Guardiola inherited, with 'Messi and Xavi and Iniesta at their peak', as you said. And with that team which had ended the league behind Villarreal and 18 points behind Real Madrid, Guardiola had some of the best seasons not only in Barcelona's history but in modern football's history. Also, when Guardiola moved to Germany and to England later, he also broke different all-time records in both countries (winning the league most matches before the end of the competition with Bayern, making the most points with Man City, etc) and at the same time Mourinho was getting sacked by various teams and some years he was winning nothing at all with clubs that were making the same investments as Man City (Man United), but of course you were not interested in mentioning any of this, since it doesn't help your argument too much, does it?

Actually in this game Pedro was on the right wing, Messi was playing as a second striker behind Ibrahimović, and Keita was in the left half-space. It was somewhat a blend of a 4-2-4 and a lopsided 4-3-3.

I always agreed with him. Players are more focused on the life outside the pitch these days. Hard to see a true club player. We've got slayers on Instagram but not on the pitch!
