Dobbs is all you can ask for in a backup. He can get hot and win two games. If the qb is out longer than not a team in the league can weather that storm. Unless your the nock foles eagles

Dobbs was a good hire. Smart, athletic, veteran, good guy. He has a good arm. He can win us some games if Brock goes down. Watch his hail mary to JJ in college.

Hail Marys are often done bcuz the lack of time or skill to stay ahead in the match. I gotta see if this fits in either spectrum.

@josephstockbridge6425 Watch it. He has a good arm. He launched it to the endzone from around midfield.

@@duckmcgee8979Dobbs is a decent QB look at the game he had against the Niners last season. He’s a journeyman, he stays ready and could fill in for a few games if needed.

Dobbs is exactly right. The best players are the most consistent. You have to make the layups CONSISTENTLY and that's what gives you a chance to make the game winning plays later.

The real problem with many football evaluators is they look at the tangibles, basically height, arm, strength speed they look a lot at a lot of that which does help a lot, but the unfortunate thing is when you look at only that as a primary source of this guy is gonna be good this guy’s gonna be bad You ignore what happens on tape on the field. You have many guys throughout history that were not considered great talents or anything like that that constantly came from lower rounds and so many of them are Hall of Famer and they are all-time great and it wasn’t because of their athletic ability. It was because of their smart on the football field and their instincts, when you look at everything as a whole, what people have and what they did to contribute what they did for their spot that they were supposed to do to help others or help themselves everything that’s how you find a great player and anybody who actually watched the tape properly with Brock Purdy at Iowa State University would’ve seen thatbut because they were so focused on the Stat lines and his physical attributes, they completely ignored what he did for the Iowa State football program, which was that he made it the most successful it has ever been and it’s history

I was glad when they signed Dobbs. The only thing annoying is that all of his talking about Brock Purdy sounds kind of like a backhanded compliment.

It could be viewed in that manner, but I think what he was trying to allude to is the fact that the great QBs have the boring basics down to a point where when the time is right, they'll be able to make that right play at the right time, that wow play at the right time, that changes the game. Every qb can have wow plays, but they don't always happen at the right time with the right impact to the game.

Except he dosnt say Brock when he's talking about Brock and he says about doing boring stuff well it's not backhanded compliment because he's telling us it's all the best guys that do this so he's saying Brock is a top qb how is that backhanded

Good QB’s make easy throws look easy. That’s how an offense moves the chains. Nothing negative about that

I think Dobbs just meant that great QBs have mastered the basics to the point that they can beat teams with them. Kinda like Jokic/Duncan who play fundamental basketball at an elite level. It's boring and not flashy to most fans but it wins you games. And ofc there's gonna be times when they need to do more than just the basics to win or the basics open up opportunities to make wow plays and great qbs recognize that and make it happen

I think brock being under valued is great! Because Im going to enjoy how all these “prime time” sports analysis and “has been turned sports commentators” football players, are gonna have to walk back everything they said, and how cringe it will be to see how they double down while giving in.

The way y’all KZitemrs keep bringing this stuff up trying to justify Brock purdy really pisses me off the way yall make videos constantly trying to justify whether he’s good or not is flat out stupid n a tired argument .. the dude is fantastic and the way people keep talking about him tells me yall are trying to push him out it ridiculous already.. I don’t need to hear Josh dobbs say it or anyone just watch the games man if you know football at all you can tell purdy is the real deal

Sorry. Like the kid a lot. But I’m not sold on him being elite. Great qb considering were drafted. Not sure he’s got that “it” factor to be one of the best. I think geno smith does just as good in that offense had they switched teams last year. I’m not sure yet, as they both don’t have a lot of film and have had the same offenses pretty much the last two years. But I lean actually that geno is a little better. Purdy’s ceiling does ALMOST look like it could be Joe burrow too.

Geno? Idk man, you comparing a 33 year old to a 24 year old. You may not think he is elite but numbers don’t lie.
