Auburn is special, for sure. Glad they got a big mention, I'm used to UT where everyone hates us and alot of our loudness is based in resentment and years of pain. Auburn is special even just for their VIBE, the way they get the whole stadium into a coordinated cheer squad or dance team is just unmatched. Compared to Tennessee's resentment, Auburn has some fun doing it!

I have been fortunate enough to have watched football games in all of the SEC stadiums on multiple occasions. 1997, when #1 ranked FSU came to Gainsesville to square off against #10 ranked UF, was probably the loudest atmospheres I have ever witnessed. Especially the last scoring drive when Doug Johnson of UF hit the deep ball to Jacquez Green. Immediately followed by a big Fred Taylor run to the goal line. With Taylor scoring a rushing TD to take the lead. It was LOUD. But UF left time on the clock and FSU was trying to drive down the field to either tie the game with a FG or possibly win the game with a TD. FSU started the drive from their own 12 yard line with about 1:45 left in the game. That is when the crowd got LOUD LOUD. 1st down - Thad Busby runs for a short gain. 2nd down -Incomplete pass by Thad Busby. 3rd down - Thad Busby passes downfield, and it is intercepted by UF linebacker Dwayne Thomas, which seals the victory for UF. That is when the crowd got LOUD LOUD LOUD.

BDS is frankly just pathetically quiet, it reeks of entitlement as soon as the opposing team does basically anything positive. You can just feel the shame being cast on the team and coaches from the fans. It's like nothing I've ever seen at Tennessee or anywhere else for that matter, but will certainly improve with a new coach alone but especially if they don't make the playoff for a couple years and reset expectations/grind mentality. They have the better stadium to make loud too, the more round shaped vertical stadiums to me are way easier to get as loud compared to some more oval ones like Neyland.

The problem I have with "loudest" stadiums is that the metric is difficult to rank. If a team like Wisconsin, Penn State, Tennessee, etc. played New Mexico State, the stadium will be dead silent because half the stadium will only be filled. But when they play a rival, top five team, or a game with playoff implications, it can become extremely loud. The ranking should be the loudest stadium by game, not loudest stadium by team/program.

There's always a glaring issue with those "records" though because they're single moment decibel readings... it doesn't take into account the game long noise. The most powerful thing Lsu could do to make the stadium stronger, is to allow Mike the Tiger back in. He was banned about a decade ago. But up until then he would go into the stadium and inspect it, then he would park in front the visitors tunnel which would make him angry and he would roar at the enemy as they came out. Thats TRULY unfair but it was us who tied our hands behind our back not abybody else.

LSU is trying to remain an accredited tiger sanctuary. No way they could expect to keep that standing and continue to trot Mike out there. Plus, unlike a lot of other fans, I thought the tradition was overrated. He came out hauled behind a tractor in this tiny cage, you could never see him very well, and I doubt many players coming out of the visitors locker room were too intimidated by a caged docile tiger. That's like being intimidated when you pass a tiger cage at the zoo. I don't miss it, but I understand some old baws still do.

As an Aggie fan, we lost our greatest tradition, the Aggie Bonfire, when it killed people. I still think it can be brought back and done safe, but there is no lawyer in America who would recommend it. Having a tiger on the field, unless he's in a cage, will never work again in this heavy litigious society anymore. The only way would be in a cage, and then the PETA guys will protest you. It sucks, but it's not changing.

It wasn't banned, it's Mike's decision. They still offer him his trailer every game day, but he hasn't wanted to get in. I loved seeing him at the games and I loved how visiting teams had to walk right past him, but I'm glad they don't force him.

I don't think it was banned. The Mike prior to the current Mike refused to get in the trailer to go, and they were not going to force him. I remember the head keeper said " He doesn't care that it's the Alabama game."

There is no reason that an SEC game should be played at 11 AM in Death Valley. Especially in September/October
@voiceofreason2674

Yea that's terrible but weirdly enough LSU has a better record on early kickoffs than their average. Especially in September. The most aggregious outlier is the time Florida schemed their way into a weird early kickoff game vs us in tiger stadium where Darius guice failed to score with 4 tries at the goal line.

ESPN doesn’t know how the properly schedule the right games, it’s why they will mess up with the new rights agreement. they’re having Kentucky vs Louisville as a flex game and I believe Alabama vs Tennessee as an 11 am game. LOL. a joke. and mind you these things matter. the majority of the upsets happened on the 230 timeslot on CBS, 7 pm timeslot on ESPN, and 11 am if put on SECN. so these slots matter

I think some of those metrics are taken from the sideline of the visitors team. For example, at Kyle Field, they purposely built the top covers to bounce back sound onto the visiting teams sideline. So, in reality, it's supposed to be louder on that particular sideline that it is in the rest of the stadium. I do agree that LSUs stadium is probably the loudest I have been to.

I enjoyed my trip to JH, but the crowd was horrible. Of course A&M (with Johnny Football) beat them like 62-3 and Auburn was down, but the crowd left early, it was just about all Aggies in the stands by the time the 4th Quarter rolled around, so unless you have been to Stadiums at night, and at a big game.

I have been to LSU OLE MISS AUBURN TENNESSEE GEORGIA FLORIDA STATE And Alabama. Lsu is very loud especially when they are playing Alabama I'm not a AUBURN fan but it gets pretty loud even though OLE Miss Stadium holds alot less people but those fans love the Rebals you can quited it down if they start losing but they're is not much difference between all of them because I went to watch TENNESSEE play at Bama and you could not hear nothing but wild southern people screaming and during that game it was deafening. But at night Lsu is jumping. But they all do. The Last time I went to AUBURN playing GEORGIA and just about beat GEORGIA those people were doing everything they could to help their team beat GEORGIA. The funniest and really loud is when Alabama and AUBURN play in Tuscaloosa those people sound like they are going to get violent lol. They are all great 👍 🎉

Understand that I am an LSU fan when I say this. Over the last decade or so I've noticed a disturbing trend in Death Valley. Unless it's a really BIG game or an unexpectedly tight game, by halftime the stands are already thinning out. This is particularly obvious on the east side. If the Tigers have a big lead against a lesser opponent, it seems like the fan's boredom threshold is pretty low.
