Dear Dave, my responcabilities in life keep me from being able to venture out in the outdoors as much as I'd like. I'm a biomedical engineer. But I wanted to say how grateful I am that I can take a quick second every couple days to watch a video or two or yours. I love them. Keep up the greate work. God bless.

A folded heavy duty plastic bag would be good to have in that shot bag. So many uses for a bag. But it is good for storing bloody small game, or roadkill, without staining your gear while you carry it. Good hunting Dave. God bless,

@P3anutbuttr For some going to the bathroom in the outdoors information: Something long to block the wind works well for a man or a woman (the Mongols used a Del). Something like a long shirt or a long coat would work. I'm a man, and I've used a knee-length coat to take a leak in the woods from a squating position (I was on the side of the road, trying to be hidden) & it was COLD. If it would work for a man, even with the added "range," it should work for a woman. Just watch for the coat!

The beads could be used as mile counters for hiking as well. Really enjoying the vids and the experiental archeology, thank you for your wealth of free knowledge and demos Dave, really appreciate it. Prepping for hiking the AT and everything down to the ounce needs to be multipurpose and absolutely essential. Drawing alot of cool ideas from your vids. Question: what would be your approach to gear and food for a long distance hike such as the Appalachian Trail? I know you go tool heavy, hearty food, and durable material, how would you change your kit if you were to hike one or two thousand miles?

I live in Canada, we have laws about side arms, we can't carry them at anytime. You have to be registered by law enforcement, a side from that you can by imprison for 3 years with possession of a restricted fire arm. There for a side arm is out, my gun of choice is 410/22 over under. The 410 is large enough to take a deer, with in a reasonable distance and the 22 is a great gun for small game. Granted you may have a problem getting 410 shells in a time of need, but 22 will be easy to get. I have killed 240 lbs pigs ( at close range ) so it can be done if you knew what your doing, I think you could take bigger game. I tried this gun and I really like it, I think there is a 12gauge 22 over under as well. They are both single shot which is ok for the most part, but we do have black bears and sometimes one shot won't do it. In this case you want to have an other go at it. I have heard STORIES where a bear had charge into many round of gun fire. A friend of mine shot a black bear in the heart and the found the bear the next morning, he had run a 100 yards into the bush before he fell.

Dave, do you release your quail out on the property to enhance the native population? Guineas are great for killing snakes and reducing tick populations. Do you corral yours at night into a coop or let them roost in the trees? Love the multi-tool crucifix necklace. Stealthy way of expressing "I am the truth and the light...". Again, thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.

@ReptilesEHH Indeed imo it´s great, ofc it depends on your attitude behind it. But it´s not dangerous, and has lot of good perks, and are a very usefull medicinal herb. Only way it can damage you, is with psychosis, if you smoke tomuch, or having a tramua while under effect (but hey, you would prolly get pshychosis of that trauma when sober aswell)
