This song was my ‘Exhibit A’ in every “Who’s got the best rock voice?” discussions/arguments growing up. This was the best era of Journey by far IMO. The Rollie/Perry harmony was phenomenal.

Wow. Steve Perry’s voice is that of an angel. It will be another century before were blessed with that kind of talent again. Greg Rollie opposed him perfectly. This song, and this era in music has yet to be matched. We were all blessed to receive such a wonderful gift from such an incredibly epic band.

Surprised and elated I found this cut. One of the best I have seen, and I certainly have been a Journey fan. Too bad this lineup couldn't have stuck together, amazing. The sound quality on this is incredible for the 70's period. Mostly Schon's Les Paul and Marshalls. Dunbars drums are exceptional. Rolie certainly deserves most of the credit for this band, and is recognized as an inductee to the hall of fame. Steve Perry was a smart add on for this time frame, Rolie and Perry gel together well in 78-81. After 81, Rolie left and Journey became a different experience. Thank you Gregg Rolie, your footprint is the band called Journey.

Ross Valory playing an Early Peavey T-40 bass, those were pretty heavy basses, he also tuned his bass lower than most back then , BEAD....

I grew up on these songs. I had the Journey Escape longsleeve shirt in 4th grade and loved it! I took it for granted we didn’t know how good we had it in the 70’s. No politicians, No 24 hours news stations, Just golden summers, Great music , Beaches and amusement parks everywhere.

Steve and Greg sound great together, I loved when he came in singing, when the summer's gone she'll be there standing by the light, his vocals just sound so amazing, I remember after hearing that song for the first time I just kept listening to hear his vocals, but those two really did sound good together.

Wait.... Wait..... Wait...... Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait, Wait! --- Steve back-to-back? --- I grew up in the 60's, 70's. I listened to some fucking good music. Went to some fucking good concerts; ted nugent, heart, rush, ac/dc, three dog night.... the list goes on and on and on. --- Journey and Styx were a couple of my favorites. Gregg Rolie never gets the credit he deserves and I'm telling anyone listening he's the dude laying down the tracks. Made love for Steve for bringing 'that' voice to the stage. Let me tell all of your, you've landed in music heaven if you're reading my spill and jamming to this beautiful music. Okay, not beatitufl in the sense, but beautiful in the fact these fella's played those instruments for real and Steve had that voice.

This IS JOURNEY!! Gregg Rollie and Steve Perry in perfect blending and complimenting each others voices....along with Neil and Roy...there will NEVER be another as this groupwas for those years..instead of trying to replace Steve Perry who is his own legend and "VOICE" they should just move on to the next chapter..and probably rename themselves...actually shouldve renamed themselves after Steve left..ROCK ON!! JOURNEY

You know that Steve said that to Neal after SP had hurt his hip and Neal wanted to tour. Call it something else, he said, just don't call it Journey. If Neal heeded Steve's request, they might have lasted a lot longer together. That is a huge reason that Steve didn't want to go back. That and the amount of touring Neal wanted to do just racked Steve's voice night after night.

Not Only are they Handsome but they can sing. Love the Gregg Rolie/Steve Perry vocal god duets of the late 70's and 1980! Also, love the rock god look, open shirts with the bell bottoms and boots. Gorgeous men...both of them!
