👉 Journey of Discovery on the Road around the West Lake (Ho Tay) of Hanoi, Vietnam
According to Wikipedia, the West Lake, formerly known as Dam Sac Cao, Kim Nguu Lake, Lang Bac, Dam Dam, and Doai Ho, is the largest natural lake in the inner city of Hanoi. Noi, located in Tay Ho district. The lake covers an area of more than 500 hectares with a circumference of about 14.8 km. Historical geography has proven that West Lake is a section of the old Red River in the process of stagnation after the river changes its course. The adjacent areas around West Lake will be planned to become the center of the new Hanoi Capital in the near future, replacing the current position of Hoan Kiem Lake.
West Lake has been a famous scenic spot since ancient times. From the Ly-Tran dynasties, the kings established around the lake many palaces for recreation and entertainment such as Thuy Hoa palace in the Ly dynasty, ie Ham Nguyen palace in the Tran dynasty, now Tran Quoc pagoda; Tu Hoa palace in the Ly dynasty is now the Kim Lien pagoda area; Thuy Chuong Palace of the Le Dynasty is now the Chu Van An School.
Around the lake, there are also many cultural and historical relics such as:
Nghi Tam village, the hometown of poet Ms. Thanh Quan district with Kim Lien pagoda has unique architecture;
Nhat Tan village with Tao Sach pagoda and famous peach blossom cultivation;
Tu Tong village with Van Phuc pagoda and mulberry farming, later switched to ornamental kumquat cultivation. The Tu Lien kumquat scene (the new name of Tu General) is the most beautiful in all the ornamental kumquat growing regions today;
Xuan La village with Thien Nien pagoda (Tien Nien ancient temple) worshiping the ancestor of the weaving profession, Pham Thi Ngoc Do, the concubine of King Le Thanh Tong;
Ke Buoi village (An Thai) with traditional paper making (do paper), with Dong Co temple (currently located on Thuy Khue street) where the assembly of officials swore the Ly dynasty;

Phu Tay Ho (worshipping Princess Lieu Hanh) is famous as a relic and a landscape.
Youth Street: Formerly known as Co Ngu Street, it was formed from a narrow dike blocking a corner of West Lake. In 1957 - 1958, according to President Ho Chi Minh's opinion, the road was expanded as it is today by young Hanoian students working in communist Saturdays, then the road was renamed Thanh Nien Street. On clear days, a lot of Hanoi people walk around the lake or row a boat to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
