Me/mine too. I've just been watching clips of a Stranglers concert that I was at back in the eighties as a young teenager, and that always makes me smile! Now I'm watching this video and I've a lump in my throat and tears welling up. Why? I think the girl in this video accentuates my emotions but the original video gets me too. Every time.

Yep bc a good looking girl posing is what I think about when listening to music about struggling with depression and killing yourself. This video makes me think of episodes of teen dramas where a main character is depressed. The video would have been done better without anyone in it. When I think of depression, I think about someone who is doing their best to be/act normal when they’re actually white knuckling it through the bad times. I feel sad when I see video of Ian.

I dunno, seems a little dramatic don't you think? I mean there you'll be, in a coffin, and everyone will be listening to this wondering, 'why are we listening to this song' ? Oh it's because he wanted us to', but then people will wonder, why this song? Was he trying to send us a post death message? and the funeral last a while, so it'll just be this one song over and over? People will get sick of it really. Then people will start researching the lyrics and coming to all kinds of conclusions, it'll become like a riddle with pieces of your life being corelated to words in the song, do you really want to send people down this road? How about just an instrumental version of something? Maybe a mariachi band better?

Joy Division sounded like a 90's band. So ahead of their time

How a person responds to music, is a deeply personal thing. Many, if not most of you, were exposed to this song many years after it's initial release, this is not your fault, it is just how life unfolds... I heard this song, when I was about 20, (along with the entire Unknown Pleasures album), when it was first released. This gloomy (later to be called goth) music, touched a part of my soul, that had never been touched in this manner before, it was dark, it was introspective, it forced me to look deep inside myself and it scared me, yet I could not look away, I could not stop listening, I really felt Ian was stimulating a part of me, that had never been exposed before, I loved it, yet in some twisted way, hated how it made me feel, but I was hooked and the bottom line was.... IT MADE ME FEEL....!
