I love this pedal and use it with a Danelectro Fish n chips EQ into my FX Return on my Marshall MG100 HDFX into a 412 with V30's and I get an excellent live sound

Neat, I seen your comment on reddit. What frequencies do you boost and cut on your EQ pedal

is the built-in noise gate enough or do you still need a noise gate pedal?
@samgoffenguitar

It is pretty good. If this is your only distortion it could be enough. If you use others you’ll need one for those as per usual. Maybe a noise suppressor like the Boss NS2 would be a good choice :)

Did you have issues with alot of hiss or excessive bass? I'm having this issue and can't figure it out. Kinda disappointed.

2:55 I definitely got some noise, but the built in gate is good. If using any high gain pedal, I’d recommend a noise suppressor really. The Boss NS2 is great.

Sounds a little like there was a blanket over the cab at times in the vid .....now I KNOW there was NOT ....but ....hmmmm BIG HISS and very muddy to my ears on this end ......I was going to buy ...but ....now I am very UNSURE.....I know its in a different category cost wise ...but this vs a Mud Killer OD ??????....ANYONE chime in ...I want to go from a Tyler Bryant,Lance Lopez hot rodded blues ...to some In Flames ..Its my very first Guitar Rig (been a bass player for over 30 yrs)....already own a Line 6 HX Stomp.....but WOW at the controls you have to use to dial in a tone!!!!!!!!! So PLEASE HELP an ole bassist who wants to be a guitarist for a while now!!!!!!

Dude thx for the honest comment. This is a decent pedal but it is still pretty cheap. For what it is, it’s damn good. Lots of control for your tonal options so if you think it was sounding muddy, I’m sure you could dial in your tone. If you are planning on using it with a load of gain, I would go for a noise gate / suppressor. My choose would be the Boss NS2. If you want a better sound, you could not go wrong with a Revv G3 or G4. Which is best? REVV G3 G4 Distortion Comparison kzitem.info/news/bejne/mG2M1WuLmpucgoI

In fairness I’ve listened back and I don’t think it sounds like a blanket is over the speaker:) There are sections when I bring down the bass or add treble and it sounds very clear and defined imo. The built in gate also does a pretty good job as you can hear when I bring it in 3:01

this is where you need to ask your self what you need a pedal to do if you are going to use it in a studio you can take that blanket off make a fender sound like a les Paul no need waste money your studio has tools to reform sounds just get the sounds into studio if your gigging different experience / situation and needs or are you a bedroom musician, on a practice amp spending 150 or more on pedal that would sound same as this one on a 15 watt amp and a 100£ guitar. SO what are your needs from a pedal there's not one review to answer every ones needs the joyo rev is a cheesy copy of an attempt on biyang metal king pedal those rev boards were put in biyang cases sold as metal kings cutting biyang in on the money to capitalize on a market of viral fans when they no longer made biyang metal pedals

Thx for the comment. I’d go for a bass specific pedal to be honest. I think there are better options than this one. If joyo, the double thruster might work:)
