i just bought a 550 thats been sitting for a long time. motor is pulled right now so i tried turning the coupeler is connected to the shaft from inside the hull and it seems like the prop is binding on the wear ring. will the prop grind this away enough (seems like the wrong way to fix it...) or can the wear ring be sanded a little for clearance or do I need to purchase another wear ring. thanks for your videos

Nickolaus B so the wear rings on the pumps will swell sometimes and then you have to get a new ring. I would take it out look at it and if it is bumped up in places it’s bad and you’ll have cavitation issues if you use it. You can remove shins behind the impeller to gain a little clearance as well but you’ll have to pull the pump to know.

Hey, I am having trouble getting my pump to push water through for the cooling system. Any tips or fixes for this?

Conner Gibson Yes you probably have something stuck in your cooling line. Start by unplugging your line at your bulkhead and blow through. If you can feel air coming out of the pump fitting your good there. Then unplug another line and blow through that. If you ever can’t feel air coming through or there is resistance take compressed air from a gun and shoot it through. If the clog persists you can always pull the line and just replace it. Fast flow fuel line sells good cooling line. Any more questions feel free to ask and I can make you a video too once I’m home from vacation.

Thank you! I had it running off the garden hose and everything was running fine and staying cool. I dropped it in the water and wasn't getting any water flow. It was cavatating a lot. I dropped the pump and I noticed that my impeller didn't look that good. Now I don't really know what a bad pump looks like/feels like, so if you could give me some pointers on what to look for in a pump and on the impeller that would be great. Also if you know anything about the different pitches different impellers have and what they do that would be very much appreciated. Do you know the pitch of a stock impeller?

Just saying what I’ve done that has worked, more than one way to do something.
