My All time fav!! 🇵🇷 His back and injuries killed his career. 2001 was his last great yr. Now that I moved back to PR I have seen him and He is still an awesome person. Still big and strong but helps Team PR huge in coaching and won 2 double a championships as manager down here. Also a very educated guy and a pleasure to talk to. 🙏🏽💪🏽

It's really telling what era he played in. The simple accusation of him doing steroids with no evidence to suggest such actions was enough to keep him out of the Hall of Fame. He's a Hall of Famer in my book and he will always have a place in mine and other Rangers fans hearts.

Juan Gone hit a very good .295/.343/.561 for his career, good for a .382 wOBA. That's a guy you want in your lineup, but not an all-time great by any stretch. He stole 26 bags in his career, and was mostly a corner outfielder, and a bad one at that, so his case needs to be built on outstanding offensive numbers. He doesn't have them. His 434 career homers are very nice, but not a serious Hall credential for a slugger whose career peaked in the mid to late 90s. Overall, Gonzalez racked up 33.5 WAR (rWAR, that is. fWAR is a bit more generous with 38.6). The usual threshold people point to is around 55 WAR. (75% of players at that level are voted in.) This one is pretty straight forward. HOF voters are far from perfect, but in this case they're pretty much right on target. Juan Gonzalez was very good, but he wasn't great, and he doesn't belong in the Hall of Fame.

Bro..I’m currently reading Jose Canseco’s book Juiced and that chapter about him putting the Texas Rangers Players onto the Roids was explosive. So I decided to do a little research on our guy here Juan Gonz. Rookie year guy was lean skinny built. A few years later the guy looks like Ivan Drago. This video here just sealed it for me. He was super jacked off the roids and guess what I’m not bothered. Baseball was fun when roids where in style. Remember “Chicks dig the long ball”

Touché. But he was hitting them out when he was rail-thin as well. He did put on a LOT of muscle, but he got hurt A LOT. Which probably means he stopped juicing shortly after he started.
