I'm a Rob Halford Metal God fanatic since I first heard Exciter from their 1978 album Stained Class. Truly one of the best singers ever, and one of the greatest Heavy Metal vocalists of all time. So, when Rob left Judas Priest to form Fight, I loved Fight too. And when Tim Owens was brought on board to replace Rob in Judas Priest? I honestly didn't want to like him. Nothing against him personally. He just wasn't Rob. I had a really hard time not just calling him "Not Rob." That said? I still bought Jugulator and Demolition, and the live album they recorded between those studio albums. Tim's not Rob, but he sure as hell sang his ass off for Priest while he was with them. As this soundcheck proves? Timmy has some absolutely amazing pipes. I don't believe any other lead vocalist could have taken over Rob's lead vocals the way Tim "Ripper" Owens did. It looks to me like Priest enjoyed having Tim in the band, too. Younger vocalist, and with powerful pipes like that, how could they not? Rob Halford was irreplaceable. And yet? Ripper did a damn good job filling those impossible to fill shoes. Besides that? We fans got 3 bands out of the deal while Rob was doing his solo thing. Fight, Halford, and Judas Priest. (I don't really count 2wo, because I didn't like whatever kind of music they were trying to play. Just seemed way too far out in left field for my tastes.) Can't hate that.

He was funny, he dropped his leather jeans for a quick flash for the girls. We were a bit shocked and when he came out years later it became clearer about his personality but what a great voice Rob has and genius. Paul wasnt blessed with a voice like Robs but how many metal singers have ever reached his greatness but Paul had that great mix of punk and metal unique to him and im really glad he is singing great covers of early iron maiden songs with a great band that shocked me as they were so tight and good. Well worth seeing and great to see Paul giving it his all even if he is now having to sing in a wheelchair. He looks happy and clearly loves his audience and the fans clearly love him and his great performance. God bless him and well done to Steve Harris for showing Paul such love and support. He seems a nice man who has stayed loyal to his cockney roots and never let fame change him but he clearly is a kind beautiful soul and i was moved seeing him givde Paul a hug. Pure class Steve.

Paul Teutal Jr. on vocals. He joined Priest to get away from hearing his dad yell at him on West Coast Choppers.
