The way they orchestrated the music the lighting and incorporating with Garland’s singing, and her execution of movement is flawless! Here’s a woman who was only 4’11” and alone on stage without any cheap gimmicks and held millions of people’s mesmerized! That’s TALENT!

I know, I never cared much for the song ‘Smile’ written by Charlie Chaplin until I heard Judy sang it On Sullivan here on KZitem. I was so overtaken by the feeling in her voice I found myself wiping tears away when the video ended. No other singer I’ve ever heard in my life has brought on tears in me before. There’s everyone else and then there’s Judy.

Dean was great and Frank was just amazing but...it says something that only Judy had her name spelled in lights on stage. It says that she was a titan among titans.

You can have Barbra, Ella, Rosemary, Peggy, Lena, I'll add Liza even though she really wasn't good enough for this Company, you can have Frank, Dean, Sammy, Tony, Bobby, and all the rest and non of them equal Judy. She could sell a song better than any of them or anyone else. There was a song writer many years ago that M.G.M. wanted to write a score for one of their movies, (he had never written a score for M.G.M. before) and he agreed to, based on one thing: Judy must be his star. No Judy, No Deal, PERIOD! I do believe the contract said no matter what, if for some reason the studio were to replace her, the deal was off. The film was Easter Parade, the song writer was some guy named IRVING BERLIN, the reason he wanted Judy was "Because she sings my music better than anyone", she sings everyone's music better than anyone. PERIOD!

Laraee, I do believe Judy tried to get Ella to do her show, Ella didn't have the guts to do it. She had some great talent on her show. She had Peggy, Lena, Barbra, Jack Jones, Bobby, Steve, Mickey, and let us not forget THE COUNT AND HIS BAND, loved that episode. Judy was afraid of no one, and a fan of almost everyone.

wtf!! I have never seen such a performance, felt so many feelings and am just stunned!!! yes, it's my first time seeing her hearing her perform, other than "Over the Rainbow" or "Meet me in St. Louis". She truly is a Legend, nothing or no one can compare. I only wish I was able to see her. They definitely don't make them like this anymore and probably won't ever. She is incomparable!!

That opening is great for so many reasons but Just In Time is particularly awesome because of not only how amazing she sounds but also to Watch her sing it ...with such confidence and she just has the whole audience in the palm of her hands ... No one knew their way around a song like Judy Garland and it is no wonder that her PEERS called her , The World's GREATEST Entertainer !! xoxo

I really thank you for bringing this one back. I remember very well the night it was broadcast. It was 25-Feb-1962. I remember it because I walked out during an excruciating sequence where one and another of the boys took turns asking Judy to wait while they sang. My Daddy chuckled when I left. I remember it well, because that was the last time I ever saw him. One execrable evening in front of the teevee.
