This was even better than Sochi's team event! Her spins were centered, her jumps looked higher, her landing were really better!

The really special thing about her is her eyes. That is something that cant be reproduced by any other skater. Usually people refer to younger skaters as technicians, or jumping shrimps.....but from her eyes we can see that she knows what she is doing. There is a certain gloominess about her, perhaps that's related to personal experiences or the hardships. But I hope as she grows as a skater and as a person, she can explore more emotions and more sides of her. Smile Yulia!

She truly is exquisite, and this is definitely the mark she deserved. She is amazing techinically (although she could work on her flutz as we saw in the free skate) but there is still room for improvement in her PCS. Remember that yulia is only 15 and Mao and Carolina are 23 and 27. Everyone's component scores are lower when they are younger, but as the skater ages they become more mature and their interpretation marks will go up. One day Lipnitskaia will be the best skater in the world, but that won't be until Kostner and Asada retire.

I really hope her physical development does not go awry that she loses the astounding flexibility to perform the most outrageously vertical spins. She even adds gentle elegance, even at speed, to Yuna Kim's otherwise very athletic trademark routine ending spin, and to me Yuna was the last word in serene elegance on blades.. She already has the distance, lightness in the air and speed of rotation in her jumps. She will achieve better height on her jumps. She, too, will make time appear to go out of sync. Importantly, she is NOT confused about toes and edges, takeoffs and landings! Julia will never need to win under false pretenses and shall be another who will always occupy a podium step in competitions. I love this adorable child.

Was ok. Not her best and not her worst as she has performed amazingly-terribly before. If she keeps it at this level even if she doesn't win it still be amazing and an achievement (plus she is uber cute & just 15 years old which makes it more impressive).

In last year's European Championship, Yulia had the benefit of her adolescent ignorance. When she was placed on the center of the len in Sochi, the angst of the "duty to bring the gold to the Fatherland" smashed her like a steamroller. It is really nice to see her recovering and finding her self again with all her rights to mature restored.

Nice suggestion over here! Sadly figure skating favours jumps, and some important aspects have been omitted. Perhaps the maturity means artistic maturity in here?

I don't like they ommit spiral. It was great way exprrssing feminine beauty and beautiful transition move. Spins are good just not too much emphasizing ridiculous back bending. I felt some kind guilty to enjoy teen girl torturing body And for logetivity of player. I don't want to see loosing flexibilty contribute to early retirement. What is the ave female skater retiring age? 20? I like my favorite player go little more mileage like 28-even 30 Steps not much about it . It

her jumps are standard, her dance isn't as spectacular as lets say yuna's 2013 les miserables, i know her spin is the best but i think its not the spin that makes her so special, i don't know why, but she has something that makes me adore her!

Gangipervel Yes really. Do u think Im bluffing. I guess I didnt make myself clear. What did I have in mind that in the last Olympic Games in Sochi judges experiencing an enormous pressure had put the Russian female figure skater on the 1 st place although it was absolutely clear that Korean skater Li Na should be awarded the Gold. So, when the event is taken place away from Russia the Russian skater is judged in a proper away and placed in a place appropriate to her skill . Another thing Id like to point out that this isnt an age contest and the fact that Yulia is 15 y,o, doesnt give her any advantage comprare to more older competitors. It well be in the near future this lady will be on the top of the World but today she is where she belongs.

Yevgeny Mikhlin First of all this wasn't the skater that was involved in the Sochi scandal. She finished 5th there. It was Sotnikova the one you are referring too. Second of all the korean skater is called Kim Yuna and not Li Na, who is a chinese professional tennis player. Last but not least Yulia Lipnitskaya got the silver medal in Saitama so her place was obviously not on a 3rd spot where you claimed she belongs. You should really think before you post inaccurate stuff. I'm no russian but it bugs me when people distort the truth. She should not be held accountable for the fiasco that involved a team mate of hers.

Thank you very much for your comments taking care of my errors on these matters. Ure absolutely correct correcting the name of Korean figure skating. This is by the way tells me that you're following the tennis comptetions.Sure it was Kim Yuna who deserved to be places on the 1st place. Thank you w/ respect. But it wasnt a point I try to convey w/ my comment - the point was that when comptetions area taking place in Russia judges're going thru severe pressure from a number of involved parties - regardless of names - I hope you've got my point. Regarding a final standing I had put my comment prior to the final program and discussed the particular Yulia's performance. And you are absolutely correct nobody should be held accountable for another people actions. But my comment wasnt specifically about Yulia but about the situation in particular country surrounding events like figure scating tournament where the results very often depends on a judgement of a number of people who in their turn could be put under heavy pressure when it come to the time to make a final decision. Let me put straight - the reason why you dont get my comment cause you're citizen of the Western worls country where sport is just a form of social activity serving to entertain public. While in Russia sport achivements of their athletes is a part of the propaganda machine interpreting it as superiority of national style of life and system producing succesfull athletes unlike the Western World.
