some interesting set choices (can't blame you, doing the city of Rome is EXPENSIVE) but the backdrops are perfectly fine for the Mediterranean countryside. The acting though!!!! This shit is damn good acting, and for free. Top notch casting and delivery tbh, best rendition I've seen

I like the staging, the simplicity. Very nicely done. My only criticism is that which happens to most Shakespearean productions, the delivery is as if they were reading, or speaking a foreign language. People don't speak with a near monotone in their native tongue. As a rule there are fluxes in tone, pitch and timbre which give the speech true life and greater meaning. This is the fine point that separates a well done performance from an excellent one - a one in a thousand performance. Charlton Heston, Damion Lewis and Marlon Brando take it to one in a million perhaps.

why you have the cut the sentence from cassius's dialogue at 22:39 he should be saying this (Therein, ye gods, you make the weak most strong. Therein, ye gods, you tyrants do defeat. Nor stony tower, nor walls of beaten brass, Nor airless dungeon, nor strong links of iron Can be retentive to the strength of spirit. But life, being weary of these worldly bars, Never lacks power to dismiss itself. If I know this, know all the world besides, That part of tyranny that I do bear I can shake off at pleasure.)

My guess is that Shakespeare’s words are too good there, and it would violate KZitem’s policy if they were included here. Some people forget that Shakespeare is using a line of reasoning through the character that the character believes, but Shakespeare himself did not believe. Nor should anybody else, for that matter. Because it is false, though Shakespeare has a way of even making repulsive things sound beautiful and poetic. There is no poetry behind that particular conclusion. To bring oneself to great harm is no better than to bring another there. Your own life matters to somebody, just as Antony cared for Caesar. You may not know who this person is, but believe me, they are there. Maybe somewhere you haven’t noticed before.
