Doc's stats were not as great as today's players. The game back then was different. But if you watch the whole game, you realise how dominant he was at small forward position.

Yes, he was majorly dominant during his era. I’m not sure what stats of his you think inferior to today’s players. Is it the 24 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks per game over an almost 1300 game career? Is it his 63 point game? Is it his win share rating of 181 for his career? I’m not trying to bust your nuts, so don’t get me wrong. It’s just that I was there; I came of age in the 70s and watched him with both the Nets and the 76ers, seeing him in person at practice at F&M College and in games at the Spectrum. I can’t remember watching a game, even a game where Doc played at less than his usual level, where he didn’t do at least something that made you look on in awe and wonderment at it.
