Good to see the future generations getting introduced to the joys of field living in an austere environment 😁 Despite having done a dozen winter exercises to Norway, the Falklands in winter and a winter survival course in northern Canada the coldest I've ever been was on a sub-surface OP exercise in Otterburn in February. The ground was soaking wet, even 1/2 way up a big old hill, the wind was non stop +20mph and the temp never got above 0deg for the whole 10 days. I love and hate the place in equal measure!

As they always say, "It aint training unless it raining" Said a lot throughout the cadets when on Field-craft exercises. (I should know I've done a fair few). It trains us to be the best during the worst - Whilst we may only be Army Cadets and they are junior soldiers skills are similar when in the field.

Hi, I believe the dialect is what some would call “The Kings English” that has gone native, you can never tell with the Poms, they are multi lingual dialect wise. Capish? I always remember a tutor telling me that you have to learn French and Latin in school to begin to understand English! Cheers mate. Harera
