I dare anyone call this bass play "busy". This is brilliant musicianship that steps up to allow the bassist to roam the frets freely, picking those perfect notes. These guys are a perfect team, really wanna see them live.
@robertkaye5434
8 жыл бұрын
+Ryan Sullivan He's very busy! But he's also BRILLIANT at combing "busy," tasteful, virtuostic-like licks within the context of a song/groove/riff. And therein lies some of Henrik Linder's brilliance. He's set a new precedent for bass pedagogy, not only re: playing AMAZING, IMAGINATIVE bass lines w/n the context of a song, but also during his solos as well. A true phenomenon!
@guttermanek
8 жыл бұрын
+Robert Kaye Playing lots of notes isn't "busy". "Busy", at least when I have heard it used, refers to when someone adds constant notes that might be considered out of place. Henrik keeps it extremely tight whilst adding movements...you know what, screw it. Maybe it's busy but who gives a crap. It's pure musical genius. He is THE bass player of our time. Numero uno. Jaco part 2.
@sully2018
8 жыл бұрын
Actually you're both right in a way. The only problem with true busy playing is when the bassist steps on top on the drummer and the lead instrument trying to make their self noticed, and it always results in a train wreck. The really awesome thing about this trio is every instrument, including the lead's vocal is working extreme overtime which allows Henrik to take up all that space with amazing bass notes. These guys are truly fucking awesome, that's the general consensus lol.

this drummer is very influenced by totos jeffrey thomas porcaro, he is using exactly the same fill as him of beginning of this video. jeff plays that same fill at totos - you got me song on 2:08 - 2:12. and of course lot of other fusionbands has taken lots of influences from toto. playing famous covers is an OLD idea but if you do it like this guys. so dirty bassline and that flowing hihat, my god!! dirty, what else can you say?? nothing

Henrik is one of the nastiest bassist I have ever heard. 1:08-1:30 is absolutely amazing and clean. Listening to the musicianship of Dirty Loops is both refreshing and depressing (Henrik's lines make you want to give up playing the bass). The Drummer, Keys, and Vocals are all off the charts too. Musically, I think Baby, Circus, and Just Dance are as good as music gets today. Thanks for making real music! Keep them coming and I will be the first in line when your CD comes out.

All of you who are part of this group are amazingly talented musicians, and I appreciate each of you equally. Tell your bass player he is insane and seriously knows how to funk-a-fy his instrument to it's full grove capacity. You are all seriously incredible. Keep it up! -Huge Fan :)

@dandavis1635

The singer/pianist is the audio engineer and mixed the whole thing. Also, the sound is created by using a highly tweaked compressor. This was extremely popular in the 80s and 90s, usually combined with a noise gate after the compressor, I don't hear one of those here though. Don't forget most "triggered" snare sounds start with a real snare. For your health!

@turoniner Lady Gaga and soulful expression? Gimme a break. While some of her tunes is kinda catchy as songs, the production is as soulless and psychopathic calculated that it's a shame. 99% of the people actually listening to Lady Gaga does it because she's "in" and their friends do it. Seems the 90's were the last time young people gave a shit about what their friends listened too. There's a reason why pretty much everyone who don't buy LG, Rihanna & JB's records hate them.

@turoniner You salute (a compliment) contrived attempts (an insult) at diplomacy (a backwards compliment) of your misanthropy (insulting yourself). It's been fun debating with you and I would love to know what you think is quality music. But you will not share. So, I am done with you. These guys are talented, period. And, they are pretty popular now too. You are a piece of work, whoever you are.

@turoniner Still hating. Went to your home page and saw nothing. Come on man... you need to follow up those insulting comments with something. I would like to hear you play. Where are the videos? Are you someone that can appreciate good playing because you know what it takes or are you just some critic that hates on music you don't understand? Show me something. I know lots of great, internationally respected, players that are talking about these guys. What are your credentials?
