As somebody who used to wear, and then work for Justice: it was a total blindside. Out of nowhere people kept asking us when we would be gone, and we didn't know. I got really upset that the plus sizes that were included were great, and yet they eventually cut back on their plus sizes. So many little girls would literally cry because they wouldn't be bullied for having to wear adult clothes, and then they would cry when we had something that was cute and actually fit them. (I also wore the plus size justice things, and still have pieces I wear regularly that are super cute.) It was super rewarding working there and helping girls feel their best. The clothes overtime became less maximalist. We eventually started running out of sizes quickly. We stopped being able to provide the top tier customer service due to everything going south. During summer of 2020, while nobody was able to be there, we would pack orders for hours on end, and would pump out like 400-500 a day. The worst part of it was loosing a family I had gained from working there. We still have the work group chat that we talk to each other in. We still keep in touch, and still see each other from time to time. I miss you Justice. 😪

definitely hit hard when you talked about the fading tween culture of the early 2000s-2010s, i for one definitely miss it! i remember as a kid being super excited to enter that tween stage, being inspired by the media that i had been consuming such as disney channel original movies and the like, but my actual entrance into "tween" age was RIGHT at the time that the culture was fading, and i saw the people around me trying to follow trends of older teens and adults on social media. i never had social media as a kid so i didnt even know where the influence came from, only that i was the outlier who still acted and dressed very childish while everyone else tried to be as grownup as possible it makes me very happy that trends like y2k and kidcore, both of which im very fond of (particularly the latter), as well as other alternative fashion that tries to play into the early 2000's vibe is popping up again! it gives me a huge sense of nostalgia, and a bit of a sense of belonging as a kid who never truly grew up in the first place on another note, i just binged this entire channel in a day and i am completely hooked, keep up the cool nostalgic content and analyses, theyre so interesting!!!!

Justice still has an effect on aesthetics I enjoy as a whole 19 year old.. no wonder I like idol anime, obnoxious glitter, and RGB lighting. I couldn't get it often due to the prices, but you bet I wore what I did get there constantly. Honestly, if they made clothes in adult sizes, since I'm not outgrowing things and find more expensive clothes justifiable, I'd be 100% down to get some shirts since they'd work well when toned down somewhat with something more neutral stylistically, like a denim jacket. They make great pops of color to otherwise more boring outfits, especially the ones that are more just neon patterns.

I eventually got it, and used it for like a year before moving on to my anime "phase" (It wasn't really a phase cause I still love anime, but back then I would flaunt how much I loved anime and thought I was "quirky") I swear, it was Justice and Claires that I was always so interested in around that time, but I didn't really wear the clothes, it was always just the accessories. Everything I touched ended up with glitter on it. Justice was my LIFE until I hit my fandom phase in middle school, and even then I still wore my less flashy Justice clothes and jewelry until I grew out of them or they fell apart. I had such a weird god complex about not going into justice as I was a hot topic kid at the time. I never really went in there except sometimes with my best friend who was super girly or with my mom since they were the only store that sold camis and fashionable underwear in my size. I got my first bra from there and it had that monkey mascot on it 😂😂. It was so uncomfortable I hated it but I thought I was SO cool for wearing a bra. Over the years I occasionally picked up some bff accessories from there with my bff. I’m sure I still have all the bracelets somewhere. I find stuff from the original justice in thrift stores often and will buy them if they’re likely to fit me since finding leggings and pants that fit is a challenge these days. I look back on the Justice days so fondly. We had at least 12 girls in my 5th grade class (only missing maybe 2 or 3 of them) who had those colorful Justice puffer jackets, and it brought us together so much that our teacher even did a photo shoot with us in them at recess once. I was a burgeoning weird girl, undiagnosed with AuDHD and only a couple years away from jumping fully into being emo/terminally online, but Justice honestly felt like the equalizer (it helps that pretty much everybody at my school was upper middle class). All you needed to do was wear Justice, and you could get along with every other girl, at least for the length of a recess photo shoot :')

Dude the chokehold justice had on me as a little kid. It was literally the summer before 6th grade I stopped wearing stuff from it. Last year the local justice closed and i fr cried i miss it sm ☹️(i miss when kids dressed like kids not 17 year olds)

As someone who had a crush on a boy named Justice throughout all of elementary school, this store became a teasing point/inside joke with my friends. If anyone overheard, I'd say I was talking about the store. That being said, hearing the name spoken out loud so many times now is really bringing me back to that era 😂

I agree with every point you said about Justice! I used to be obsessed with this store. Me and my old friends would always wear their clothes. We were obsessed with everythinf neon and peace signs and hearts. I even had a throw pillow with a zebra print background and a hot pink peace sign shape with sparkles on it. My one problem was the fact that I was much bigger than normal girls at my age. So finding clothes in that sore, was finding the needle in a hey stack. But when I did, they looked so good on me! And I was obsessed! I remember those dance and softball shirts that one of my old friends wore. And it was very nostalgic to see that tbh. One more thing I'm going to add here that I will never forget... I was 10 years old trying to find something cute to wear for this thanksgiving event that we had at my elementary school at the time. And my dad and I went to a couple different stores and I cried because I didnt have any luck at all finding what I wanted. The last store we stopped at was Justice and the girls that work there were not only very noce to me. But they helped me pick something that was very cute and stylish. And I felt so special in that moment. I couldn't thank them enough for that. And I will always remember it to this day.

I wish I could’ve had a fun experience with Justice as a store growing up, but I was an overweight kid so I only have memories of trying on those fun printed graphic tees and the largest size was too small :/ made being a justice girl even more exclusive

I went through a HUGE Justice phase from like 11-14! I had a pair of combat boots with emojis on them that I wore RELIGIOUSLY. I even participated in a little fashion show my local store hosted where customers kinda modeled the clothes lol

I had that blue sequin tee/undershirt combo that you showed early in the video. It’s all one piece, attached at the strap and nowhere else, making it a a nightmare to put on😅 2:21 !! Except it was a short sleeve version iirc

Justice also usually made all of their t-shirts out of the same material which was very nice for me as a kid with sensory issues. Always knowing that I would be ok with how a justice shirt felt was a big part of their appeal to me. They also sold jeans with elastic waist bands which was another sensory bonus and helpful as a larger kid. Most stores in my area did not sell jeans like these which made justice all the more unique.

it’s honestly so saddening how young generations are rushing to grow up. my little cousins only 10 years old and feels as if she has to wear makeup and have a bf, etc. social media has completely ruined everyone’s innocence and will continue to do so as the years go by

I remember having a PJ set of that exact little monkey and I loved those PJs until they both didn’t fit me and were holding on for dear life by a thread. The stuff that’s still at Justice will never be the same as the nostalgic items of our childhood but they will forever live in our heads rent free.

never before has a video so sucker punched me with nostalgia. i had the EXACT same plaid messenger bag. i had completely forgotten. but as soon as it flashed on screen i just paused the video and sat here in awe as everything flooded back to me. I remember the exact smooth texture of the peace sign. i remember thinking it made me look so cool and punk. and then i remember having to stop wearing it when puberty hit me like a truck and suddenly the strap nestled awkwardly between my chest. god. what a time.

Neat! I remember when i was 11-13 in 2010-2012 and went to claires, sephora, and hot topic. Justice was for like when i was 7-9 and would often trade clothes with friends if i wanted something specific. I think its interesting how girls nowadays are wearing acrylics and full glam like i did when i was 16. I think every kid feels like they need to be older, and its only when you're older that you reminisce on the old times. I was into disney channel and teen nick. I hope kids have better self esteems than i did.

Justice was my childhood! I had many items from there but my favorite was a purple hoodie that said "dance" on it. I wore it everywhere! Those were some good memories and I was sad when it closed. I still have an emoji pencil topper from Justice, and when I first bought it, it was banana scented I believe (it probably lost the scent by now LOL). but yeah, good times :-)

omg, I had quite a few of these items! The teal sequined top, the tropical tank... so many memories! I didn't get all my clothes from there, but I remember looking through the magazines and circling what I wanted for Christmas. I remember being shocked at them being in Walmart too. I'm really happy they survived, even if they're a bit duller, I think they've done a great job at adopting the fashion styles of the 2020s. I wish Justice many more years of success!

This took me back so much. I was a Justice girl through and through. Justice had multiple outfits at Build-A-Bear that corresponded with a real outfit at Justice. I was twinning with my stuffed animal. The bacon trend of 2010-2011 was prevalent in Justice. I had so many shirts and earrings that were bacon. I eventually ended up working there for a short time, and I had no idea they actually shut the doors on all locations. Justice was fucking expensive back in the day and still is in store. My family didn't want to drop $120 on one outfit. But wearing one of those camis and running shorts was the status symbol within my school. Now that it's at Walmart, my bougie child brain gets sad that it's not as special or high class as I thought it was.

I'm glad plus size kids clothing is more common now cause as a tween i never felt like i had fashion freedom in mainstream fast fashion stores. Granted i never really cared but if there where more options for me that weren't tracksuits, workout pants and my older sister's t shirts and cardigan's i would have more variety. The only trend i had was the fact that wearing oversized clothing became a thing and that's really it. If we had Justice™ in our country when i was little i wouldn't be able to find anything that fits me in there tbh.

They actually went up to size 24 plus, at least when I worked there! We went to 20 plus in store but 24 plus was orderable online or in store. Not perfect I know, but at least later on, they were fairly inclusive

lol I was so broke as a kid we only had goodwill, I never like payed attention to the trend. I only knew the girls who bullied me wore those and I’d never want to wear it lol. But I still remembered being quite happy when I found a tone of those lace trim tank tops at a good will I got like all the basics and like some patterned for like 2 bucks and I had like 10 of them lol. I wore them with all my flannels and crop tops and skirts I cut in to other things *cough* the skull back with no neck line

My family shopped at justice until they closed their storefronts, and towards the end I distinctly remember a shift towards more mature styles, a few that I recall were plaid skirts, tube tops with detachable straps, and multi-paneled leggings (I had a pair of those). I also remember when they started diversifying their models, one of which I recall being a model with Down syndrome, possibly even from the same catalogue as the tube tops. I’m glad that they realized that there’s a bigger market out there than just the stereotypical tween girl

I wanted to be a Justus kid so badly but because I was poor and fat, I never got that moment. I remember once or twice getting a swim suit there because I could barely fit the largest size. My mom got my 5th grade backpack there and it was extremely ugly but I was just so proud of have something that had my initial on it.

oh my god my biggest memory was the JEANS UNDER A SKIRT/TUTU (bonus points for jean skirt over jeans). this was a huge trend in like 3rd grade. along with the vests, all the vests and scarves. Limited Too and Libby Lu were my places, Justice wasn’t really a thing for me until basically after i grew out of it. the one “cool” shirt was an Aero shirt in teal i got on sale, me and my friend got the same matching ones. god this was a thrill ride.

I was OBSESSED with jeans under a skirt as a tween. That was all the rage when I was in 5th grade. My mom never let me wear it though because she thought it was stupid. So I wore 'jeggings' under skirts instead. Still cute!

i remember shopping at justice and getting those little nail polish figurine sets as well as picking up a pair of pajamas.. 😂 idk i feel like that neon, blinding fashion era was just fun and carefree as opposed to now with every tween wanting to be grown up already/acting more mature. fashion statements now really are different from back then, if the justice style becomes trendy again though.. i might hop on this band wagon 😅
