If a book could only be judged by it's cover you would be a bestselller. That line has been stuck in my head for years now.

@@brianh8701 I am so damn excited that it's coming back. There is no way Boyd would ever be released from prison after fleeing the cops and throwing dynamite at them. But it wouldn't be Justified without Boyd! (He was supposed to die in the first season just like Jesse Pinkman was in BrBa!!)

@@brianh8701 Graham Yost said they were originally throwing around an idea of a montage in the ending where we see a one armed Robert Quarles playing cards in prison LOL. Quarles was my favorite villain of the entire series and that says a LOT since it had so many awesome villains. (Not counting Boyd, he's an antihero)

@Babylonian Cowboy please, if there was any downfall of justified it was that Raylan was portrayed as a superhero who always got one over the baddies no matter what. He could draw faster, outsmart then, outbattle them ALL the time.Ok got a punch from time to time but that was only to showcase how later on he would roll all of them up. There wasnt a single story development in Justified Raylan didnt walk out a winner. Boyd was a very good punchline for him but he was only a punchline to play up Raylan. They did not make him a believable character at all. As "smart" as Boyd was he always lost to Raylan which made it more comical and not at all in sync with Leonard books.

@@Carloszavalalol *Spoiler alert if you haven't watched it yet.* . . . . . . . . . . . . . In the season 4 finale, Nicky Augustine tried to have Raylan, Winona, and their unborn child killed. Raylan killed them and went to meet with Nicky and gave him a deal to turn himself in and leave his family alone. Nicky declined and told him after he kills Sammy Tonin (new head of Detroit mafia), he would come back and finish the job and Raylan wouldn't do anything about it since Raylan was suspended and ordered not to go after Nicky or he'll be fired. Then after getting out of the limo, Sammy and the mafia came to kill Nicky after Raylan told them what he planned to do. Raylan walked away while the mafia killed Nicky.

What made this so great was that unlike most other shows, there was no real hatred between Raylan and Boyd. Just what Raylan's job and Boyd's life choices mandated as such. Cause as was outlined in S1, they both weren't that dissimilar from the other. Only Boyd blew stuff up and Raylan became a lawman seemingly out of spite to his Dad. With each passing season leading up to the end, you could see Raylan becoming consumed with nailing Boyd by any means necessary. Which is what led to him getting Ava as his CI, which ends up backfiring when she shoots Raylan (the one time he didn't pull on someone) and Boyd, then bolts.
