Then again maybe he would have turned out better then what the dolphins have given him but he’d never mean as much to our fandom as Herbert does. Air-Bear and stately have brought something to the chargers that our fans have not felt since LT!

@@redjet86 exactly my gut response. JHerb is a superstar right now. He’s also the best QB in the AFC West. He’s better than Mahomes because like Mahomes Herbert has every single throw possible but Mahomes plays more chaotically & less under control than Herbert. Like Staley said “aggressive, not reckless”. Mahomes is clearly more reckless.

@@jrsands That’s ridiculous. Justin Herbert is a great young QB, but he is just beginning his second season and does not even have a playoff appearance yet. Mahomes has been the best QB in football since 2018, he has put up historic numbers that really no QB has ever matched, has led the Chiefs to a Super Bowl, along with another Super Bowl appearance, and an AFC Title Game appearance in his first year as a starter. Mahomes is going through a slump right now, but even the greatest quarterbacks have them.

Oregon fan - Herbert’s been my favorite athlete since he started for us his freshman year. He’s extremely talented, but more importantly a phenomenal person. Talented, humble, intelligent, and loyal. He checks every box you would want in any star athlete. He’s a great leader that’ll never have off the field issues. I’ve never wanted an athlete to have more success in their career than Herbert. Actually, K9 was a run fit liability at times. We had our share of misses, including Tillery and Murray to an extent, and we released some very sound defensive players we could have used. (Most of whom went with Gus.)

As i see more Herbert interviews in his NFL career. Letting most of the analysts continue to slide by with the way they were slagging his demeanor and leadership abilities is getting pretty much impossible now... I myself can't believe how bummed I was when the Dolphins had selected Tua. Thus leaving my Chargers with Justin Herbert. Damn I was stupid. Not as stupid as Miami. But stupid all the same

Kid has a great FB mind and is a quick study..... Justin on QB coach Pep Hamilton... "as soon as I got here last year he said... 'everyone on defense is faster than you.. As soon as you realize that, getting the ball out quickly and going through your reads is the most important job of a QB." ..... that philosophy has been the key to much of Herbert's success.

Well on his way to being the best Ducks NFL QB since Dan Fouts. A lot of football fans have forgotten that in Sept. 2017 he matched up against Josh Allen when Oregon traveled to Laramie, Wyoming and handed The Cowboys a 49-13 defeat.

So he’s an hour south of LA? In Orange County, probably not too far from the practice facility in Costa Mesa. Good call. Far better than LA.
