Regarding "for all hair type" Western hair products, I believe they are mainly designed for thicker, straight hair, and perhaps slightly wavy hair, but definitely not for curly or coily hair. Using products not intended for curly or coily hair tends to dry it out. Additionally, it's often needed to use more products like leave-in and gel to achieve some definition. I enjoy your videos and hope Korean haircare works for you!❤

For YesStyle, I think you hit the nail on the head when you talked about needing to find the jbeauty haircare over there. YesStyle has the best overall selection, not the best prices. It can still be a great location for someone who casually shops asian beauty to get their entire haul from one shop, or who prefers buying singular products from high end brands not carried by Style Korean/Stylevana or carried as individual products from Jolse (that has a larger focus on kits from luxury brands). I am interested in your review of Tirtir (I was interested but haven't purchased anything yet), and I totally understand what you're saying about dry skin but feel that's only a fully accurate description of non-luxury products. My understanding is that brands are much more segmented in Korea to appeal to specific demographics. Most of the products we talk about when we discuss k-beauty are at a lower price point and those brands are marketed to younger demographics. Given the humid climate and target demographic, I feel a lot of brands cater towards a client base without as many dry skin concerns. The luxury brands marketed towards an older on the other hand tend to have far more moisturizing options available (acknowledging that due to climate they may still be less rich than western alternatives). For this reason, even though I don't have the driest skin, I no longer try hardly any moisturizers or second cleansers from k-beauty other than luxury options.

That is exactly what I’ve been thinking as well! Given that the Chogongjin products are great for dry skin, and how mature skin typically (though not always) tends to be more dry, I can absolutely see how dry skin folks could prefer those lines instead. No matter their age! And yes, that really is yesstyle’s strength. They’ve even started to carry western brands, which is so very interesting to me. They’re doing well, and I think it’s because if you’re looking for a particular Asian beauty product, they WILL have it!

Not sure the exact amount of time but longer than the mascara- I completely finished first mascara and was well into the second tube before I needed to open a new remover- and a little goes a long way- one wandfull does both eyes just swipe a few times through lashes, brush my teeth for two minutes while it softens up then double cleanse.

Western hair care can be a challange as drugstore is mostly dedigbed for damadged hair and therebisbstill too much silicone and related in it. that can be so heavy on straight hair especially if it's more on the fine side (blond is normally more fine). I personally love the pyunkang yul shampoo. Giovanni shampoos are fantastic too. not sure if you can get it in the US but I will send you link to have a look. these are very light weight but caring nontheless.

Wow, I was actually not around for the disaster of the peel-off mask. However, I have gone back since following your channel and I’ve watched all of your old skin care videos so I do know what you’re referring to.. Lol I know who you’re talking about! Granted I started to doubt myself on that one too, as apparently the brand “Flortte” is pronounced “Florette” (what in the world LOL) I might have deleted it as it was a limited edition collection they did. Actually it might have been the last skincare release wet and wild ever did Ooh good point. It does seem a lot of toner pads include PHA too, while if there is a liquid toner companion, it won’t have the PHA (both this and Anua are good examples!)

@@AliceintheRabbitHoleoh wow 😂 they should really include pronunciation with that one! Oh? I watched it sometime last year. I remember because you also had put in another girls video that had the same experience and I watched hers too 😬 wet n wild definitely did that unicorn mask wrong somehow! Yes! Exactly! Other than that like you said, I don’t see the point in getting a toner pad if it’s the same thing as the toner but I think it kind of boils down to lazy skin care 😂 just slapping a toner pad on your face instead of making your own.

All yours!” In fact I was just decluttering my skincare stash of all the products that didn’t work for me late last year so I can send them to my mom. About once every two months, I send her a curated box of samples and makeup and skincare that didn’t work out (nothing gross like doe foot products but things like body butters I think she might like more!). For Christmas, I bought her a ton of Lisa Eldridge makeup (every year I get her LE since I showed her LE about 10 years ago - it’s tradition now) and then brought like… a drawer of sanitized lipsticks and eyeshadow palettes I thought she’d like. I still use bifida ferment lysate allll the time, but funny enough, I’ve been finishing my axis-y products this month Tbh, I think it’s hard for any of us skincare channels to control things down to one product; instead, it’s more likely that we figure out the elements that help us tackle skin concerns. I kind of cover this in my recent ingredients vs products video (which I think is more helpful than narrowing things down to products alone). Hope that helps!

I tried a number of Japanese shampoos in Japan and found them ok, but I felt like they were not hydrating enough and there were no bond repair or damage remedy stuff, it was all so basic. I wonder they are probably made for that super straight strong asian hair rather than western hair and no one gets all the balayage and highlights and all the other bleaching and fashion colours we do here. I found that the haircare was not as nourishing as brands like Olaplex and Amika, felt very drugstore-ish. I did like the hair oils, but then again nothing in Japanese haircare beat my go-to pureology, olaplex, amika, redken etc...

Not really. The structure of skin itself doesn’t vary: we all respond to humectants, occlusive agents, sunscreen, etc the same. Hope that helps!

How are all these influencers having such a great experience with Stylevana ?! Please explain because it’s mentioned in this video that it’s getting better and the shipping is faster but so do many ppl (especially of Reddit ) and many review sites like trust pilot say other wise ?? I do not mean to come off rude here but I would really appreciate it if some of these Korean skin care you tube influencers were honest about this and address the very real problems and issues with stylevana I mean some ppl were completely ripped off and were only able to get their money back by filing a claim with PayPal because they never got their order and never got any response from customer service they were ignored and that’s just down right wrong for a business to do this to their customers 😢 please address this in one of your videos because it’s looks really bad that so many influencers are just ignoring this issue and continue to push Stylevana without so much as a warning that this has happened to many many ppl

I'm definitely hooked on the Isntree onion line. There is a visible improvement in the healing speed of my acne marks. I have hormonal acne, a pimple here and there would show up on my period and the marks usually stick around to the next period. I'm constantly stacking acne marks and hyperpigmentation. Just by using the toner and applying my DIY pads on the acne, they were going away faster. So now I got myself the cream. For a combination skin, it's a perfect moist/texture balance and I've been particularly focusing on the problematic areas. I think I might just get the ampoule next time. I'm IN LOVE. Also about StyleVANA shipping, last time on black Friday, I didn't pay attention that I had an item in my cart that was "available in 30 days". So it took literally 30 days for that item to be in stock, and from there 2 weeks for my order to be delivered. So, 6 weeks in total. This month, I made sure everything was "available within 24h", and my order arrived in ONE week. So I guess the best way is to divide your cart based on the availability of the products.

@AliceintheRabbitHole. Yes. Commonly used “scented” (a.k.a.”fragranced”) oils like tea tree, lavender, sandalwood, peppermint, eucalyptus, lemon verbena, sage, rosemary, etc, are common irritants for those w/ sensitive skin. They can cause breakouts, rashes or damage to the skin barrier (depending on amounts). Thanks for listing the ingredients. I appreciate the fact that you actually discuss the ingredients. I think that just by improving the health of the lashes, they don't fall off early and so have time to grow longer. Happy with the serum and will keep using it. I also got the DHC lash serum but was not impressed. Another surprising find was the numbuzin no 5 vitamin concentrate serum. I wanted to try a brightening serum.and the ingredient list looked good. Why the heck do brands formulate products with ingredients I can’t use? Don’t they know that I want to love them but can’t even try them? JK. NR. It looks like I can try the TirTir ampoule. So, thank you for finding it. Do you happen to know if the M&M Idobenone cream’s cholesterol is from plants or animals? I suspect it’s the latter since the product isn’t called out as being vegan, but I hope you know which animal it comes from. I’m not getting a quick response from them. And I won’t try it until I find out. If it’s from sheep, it will burn my skin. (I mean burn as in measured by degrees burn.) I feel like an idiot for not seeing cholesterol in the ingredients list.

Been interested in tirtir. Maybe it was skincupid etc who recommended it for anti-aging and drier skin types. I did purchase the coxir snail collagen cream(for those who do love the benefits of the Cosrx snail essence etc, @madaboutskin claims the coxir cream is a more advanced formula). I’m wanting to try the BOJ revive retin eye cream. Any thoughts anyone?

Thank you so much for introducing us to this new generation of sunscreen formula. I’ve been let down by so many sunscreens, including biore, Nivea, purito, innisfree, and skin1004. I knew sunscreen is essential, but all of them irritated my eyes. Every time I tried new sunscreens, I’m kinda expecting it to not work and me wasting my money. That’s until i tried haruharu sunscreen you recommended. It is the best sunscreen I’ve ever tried. It has a natural finish, hydrating, no white cast, perfect under makeup, and doesn’t irritate my eyes. I can finally wear sunscreen everyday, and know what base formula to look for when buying sunscreens. I’m also looking forward to try Tir Tir. I love the Mary and May cream essence, and it seems like Tir Tir offers the same level of nourishment, if not even better. In terms of the price of &Honey, I saw on Rakuten that they sell shampoo+conditioner set for around $18 😂 But even in Hong Kong, the shampoo is sold for $15. No idea why the price is so heavily inflated outside Japan.

So happy to hear you’re enjoying the Haruharu! That formula feels like such an upgrade compared to…everything. And that’s saying something! Omg $18 🥲 …the set was almost $50 for me (which is why I only got the shampoo, $25ish and then went to Fino for the mask haha!)

I think the foundation looks really good, it matches your neck and looks pretty seamless. Also for mascara, I recently tried the Rom&ND mascara and woah...the length? Unrivaled. It clings to your lashes like cement tho, definitely need a mascara remover with it

I am so happy to see you try the Isntree Pads and Ampoule. I have been using them for a while and I feel like my skin is improving. I love the toner pads so much. I split the pads and use them as dace masks. It is easy and mess free and it works great for my very oily and clog prone skin. The Ampoule has such a nice texture. I already purchased back ups for both products

You’ll probably have better luck buying the &honey from Amazon Japan. Need to buy in bulk to offset shipping but I’d never go back. And I assume to US would be cheaper than from where I have to have it sent to.

After bragging here about how quickly I was getting my Stylevana orders (8-10 days!) I ordered some sunscreen and one of my fav toners I was running out of about 6 days before Black Friday and then I divided my large haul on Black Friday into 2 orders. But ONE of the orders was $65 the other was $116. I do check the in stock button. The 2 small orders arrived one day after the other. The $65 order came 22 days after I ordered it. The $116 order arrived 45 DAYS AFTER!!!!!! I’d forgotten as I also ordered from YesStyle (they had some of my always reorder stuff that Stylevana was out of) and that also came at 22 days. After watching your videos I need some weird things like those wrist thingies for washing your face and headbands so I need to do another YesStyle order…… I may get the eye cream too as the ONLY PLACE I have dry skin is under my eyes (my eyelids are oily!!! - the only place on my body with oily skin).

Some people prefer toner pads for not only convenience and quick application, but also because they're generally just easier to use! I personally don't really enjoy using masks and prefer to use the toner straight on my skin without DIY-masking or using toner pads. However, I have mobility issues and love toner pads for the days when my mobility is low. It's much easier for me to open, pull out and put on my face a pre wet toner pad, than it is for me to DIY a toner mask. I actually tried your method last night after shaving my face and while I did LOVE the results, it's not something I'll be able to do regularly or on my low-mobility days. My skin was glowing like the sun after though!

Yay! So excited for all the upcoming haircare reviews. FYI: I tried the Some By Mi hair products and I was very disappointed. Btw, I have fine hair and I'm also losing a lot of hair 😢. But yet again, another Korean product giving a concentrated amount so the tiny bottle will definitely last 1yr+.

Alice! I cant believe I missed this when it was originally posted - fantastic as always. However, I did want to say that some toner pads are made to separate so you can use them as a quick toner mask without plowing through them! And now I need to go add the TirTir back in my cart now that I know I it will last a while!

Hey Alice! Short question - I cant choose between MISSHA - Chogongjin eye cream and Hemish Marine one - my undereyes are very dry, wrinkly etc, most important of course - anti-aging and keeping them moisturised and hydrated, how are they different in those terms and which one should i go for?:)
@AliceintheRabbitHole
8 ай бұрын
It depends which chogongjin eye cream! I would say in terms of occlusivity/repair: chogongjin geumsul < Heimish < chogongjin youngan So the youngan is really a phenomenal night eye cream, but not a good choice for day (not good under makeup at all actually, good example of what I was going off about in this video lol)
@ainakunigelyte

@@AliceintheRabbitHole I meant the one that you really loved from Choginjijn for eyes so Nude color/ white jar with Royal Jelly vs MArine Heimish - they both seemed rich and occlusive, and I want it for the night, so not sure which one is better in terms of anti-aging, hydration and moisturizing (all we need for eyes I guess, since i dont believe in brightening the cappilaires ;D) ?
@AliceintheRabbitHole
8 ай бұрын
@@ainakunigelyte honestly that one is a good all-in-one choice. Not the thickest texture for night (Heimish is thicker), but if you just want one eye cream, yeah it’s a good one ☺️
