Hello, my name is Rebecca Mendoza, a K-Influencer and I live in the Philippines, I joined this K-Community Festival and chose the Hansik Category, since Hansik is very close to my heart, for the bunsik or street food recipe I will be making, Yachae Twigim.
Yachae Twigim is a Korean dish that consists of deep-fried vegetables. "Yachae" means "vegetable" in Korean, and "twigim" refers to food that has been battered and fried, similar to tempura in Japanese cuisine, and Okoy here in my country.
The ingredients are easy to find, Squash, White Onions, and Carrots, I added crabsticks and Malunggay or Moringa leaves because it is a superfood and rich in nutrients and vitamins, and super easy to find because every household has Malunggay plant in their fences.
For the batter, I bought Twigim Garu or batter mix just add Iced Water or Iced Cubes or Sparkling Water for crispier veggies. But you can always make the batter from the scratch - if you can't find anything.
This dish is a staple to many street foods found in Korea, it is usually paired with tteokbokki, the reason why dipping sauce is optional because others dip it in the tteokbokki sauce or it is best enjoyed on its own, crispy, delicious and nutritious korean snack.
You should try this too!
