Let me personally thank everyone who supports uploads such as this. Film history so often has significant works that disappear from the public eye or become lost forever, and it is a blessing to be able to contribute my small part to bringing forgotten films to your attention.

Thanks so much for this. I've seen tracked down just about every Wakamatsu film available with English subs and I've never seen this anywhere.

No worries, this was a great project to subtitle and hopefully you consider it as valuable to film history as I do.

@@lsaille1 I absolutely do. It's a shame that so little of Wakamatsu's work is readily available, and anyone uploading and subtitling his work is doing fantastic work in my book.

@@CapybaraEnjoyer95 Is there a haven of Wakamatsu's films made accessible, that I haven't been made aware of? So far, I've retained copies of: ‘The Embryo Hunts in Secret’ (Taiji ga mitsuryô suru toki), 1966. ‘Violated Angels’ (Okasareta hakui), 1967. ‘New Underground History of Japanese Violence: Vengeance Demon’ (Shin Nihon bôkô ankokushi: Fukushûki), 1969. ‘Running in Madness, Dying in Love’ (Kyôsô jôshi-kô), 1969. ‘Naked Bullet’ (Yawa hada mushuku: Otoko goroshi onna goroshi), 1969. ‘Go, Go, Second Time Virgin’ (Yuke yuke nidome no shojo), 1969. ‘Ecstasy of the Angels’ (Tenshi no kôkotsu), 1972. ‘A Pool without Water’ (Mizu no nai pûru), 1982. ‘United Red Army’ (Jitsuroku Rengo Sekigun: Asama sanso e no michi), 2007. ...but am wondering if there's anything else! I don't mind if it's even not subtitled, as I'm only capable of English and German.

Thanks for posting this! Great early Wakamatsu film, from before he founded Wakamatsu Productions. Ironic that the early "pinku" industry was the only place where such a hard-hitting drama about the after-effects of the Hiroshima bombing could have been made. The nudity is tame by today's standards, but the social commentary still packs a punch. Would definitely be more widely known and better preserved if it weren't for having Koji Wakamatsu's name on it and the stigma of being a "pinku film."

Thanks a lot for this extremely valuable upload and addition to available works by Wakamatsu. Even more applause if you've subtitled this yourself. Huge work!

A heartbreaking story based on the misery of the atomic. Bomb that is still killing today, we should always make and show films based on real life, Because as today shows us, the fools with power never learn from their murders insanity.

Cannot confirm it online either in Japanese or English, but am pretty sure that is actor Taketoshi Naito as the teacher? Looks a hell of a lot like him (incidentally i often get him confused with Ko Nishimura, but it's definitely not him here!).
