Hong Kong was the sh*t, it was THE PLACE TO BE. As an overseas Chinese diaspora, HK popular entertainment was an overemphasized representation of the city/territory for me. Hearing an honest perspective in this series was an eye opener. I'm not sure what kind of psychological identity that the Gen Y to Z Hong Kongers will embrace. Seeing that Hong Kong was heavily influenced (*brainwashed*) by western imperialist education, it's hard to fight for a small land with heavy ideals. I'm not saying I'm correct but I'm absolutely fascinated with Hong Kong as a British economic and political experiment.

@@TRNSL8 go back to China, otherwise you don't have the right to blame us, you also don't want to be ruled by Chinese Communist party so you left China
What a heartbroken feeling after watching this episode!! British didn't really care anything about HKers but only made use of the handover to gain more bargaining power with China to earn more & more benefits from China in return after 1997. Such wisdom old couple were so smart to predict what is happening now in HK > China Govt will say "You had the nice for long time, you need to pay for it."
The relationship between Hong Kong and the United Kingdom will no longer be close after the Hong Kong regime is handed back to China. As a Hongkonger was born in the 80, before the handover, I was a British National Overseas Citizen of Hong Kong. However, after the handover at 1997, my nationality has returned to that of a citizen of the People's Republic of China.
