War is the destruction of humanity. People, heritage, culture !

Bad news: Time after time, we have shown that war/aggression is part of humanity. Very often, wars are actually necessary to protect your people, heritage and culture, because not everyone on this planet shares those values. Besides, wars are what granted Europe the greatness it enjoyed until 1939...

most of Breslau (now Wrocław, Poland) was destroyed too, but the Poles done a brilliant job at rebuilding the city and keeping all of its powerful Prussian and Austrian architecture. If the Poles would've received Konigsberg after the war then they would've 'saved' and rebuilt the city too.

@@sebastianw9749 Although the Poles have partially rebuilt the destroyed German cities in the areas they annexed, they act as if they were products of their culture. They adorn themselves with foreign feathers, so to speak. For us Germans it has no meaning. With the annexation of the German eastern territories by the peoples of the East and the expulsion of the German population, the German history and culture of these areas became extinct. The Eastern peoples who later settled there have no connection to the German culture of these areas. The German buildings of the cities in these areas are just a beautiful backdrop for foreign residents.

This is not Soviet barbarians as you call them. This is nations that lost 20 mln lives in total. Indeed, its pity to see how beautiful the city was as compared to now. Still, we love this city even with little original signs remained, love much more than other cities in Russia. What happened in 1945 is a great tragedy. We vote for peace (if we could be heard).
