Oh boy I have so much to say on this subject so I hope I can put down all there is in my head properly here! First I want to thank you so much for making this video as I remember watching anime essays on channels like Aleczandxr/Super Eyepatch wolf/Gigguk and so on and I just hoped for anybody to make an essay about K since it became one of my favourite anime of all time about three years ago and I just kept finding new things I adore about the series through mangas and novels so I am truly happy and thankful for your dedicated time on this franchise! also I remeber watching many AMVs on K and yours are one of the best ones in my opinion and I want you to know you earned another subscriber with this video! ok now into the actual meat and potatoes! I remember binging K alongside a few more anime on the summer of 2019 and it sticked with me because for some reason it gave me christmas vibes (I guess the colours like red and white being central symbols alongside having the theme of family throughout the anime played a big role) so I had in mind to rewatched it on chirstmas and that brings me to 2020 when both my grandpa and one of my childhood friends died on the same week and obviously left me depressed and defeated and I remember rewatching it for the third time and also finding out of the movies seven stories and especially the memory of red in which Totsuka's death was more descriptive which made me break out in tears especially seeing all of Homura attending his funeral which gave me a sense of relatability with these fictional characters when we lived similar events. K really helped me deal with some dark times and suicidal thoughts at the time and hearing those painful screams at the end (No Blood No Bone No Ash) really made me feel guilty for even having those thoughts in the first place. So regardless of its flaws K project will remain on of my favorite and important shows for me! I will leave a comment later talking more about the actual video and the many themes and characters K project did right since only recently I started to become a more vocal fan of the series and I would like to spread it further so that many more people could see just how amazing this anime really is and hopefully becoming more popular!

Hello? K project fans are still in this world? I am glad that I found your video. Your video explains my whole feelings for this anime. It's almost impossible to find Fans of this anime. It's underrated too much. This anime everything. Animation still compete with new animes like Demon Slayer. Characters are truly amazing and have their unique personalities. I love this anime. It's underrated but at the same time it's like a hidden gem. 💎 ✨️ I really appreciate your effort.

Hey I am back! now firstly I would like to adress the point about the fan service because that is pretty universaly agreed as the main flaw of the anime and for a good reason as the whole story is not really centered on romance or appealing to an exclusively young male audience and here I would like to separate GoHands production (the studio who animated K project) from GoRa (the team who wrote the story and characters of the anime) who are responsible for the core story of K presnted in all of its mediums as the GoHand is pretty infamously known in the anime comunity as being one of the worst studios regarding the quality of their productions as another anime made by them (Hand shakers) can be debated to hold the title of the worst anime ever made and pretty much because of the reasons the K anime is seen as flawed the exagerated amount of fan service, a convoluted story who doesn't go anywhere and so much more. I say all of this to contrast all the other works of the franchise like the mangas and the novels in which the fan service is gone and even when is present is shown in a way that is in tone with the humor and the vibe of the story (like in the manga days of blue where the slice of life approach is complemented by humor and the little fan service I can think of being there is actually well implemented to create a humorous scene), that's a reason to recomend first the manga of the first season before going to the anime as not only the fan sercive is gone but the pace of the story I would consider better and the extra scenes make the whole experience overall better. But after hearing your points for the fan service I really begin to see it a little bit better cause as you said the said characters (Neko and Seri) are not bothered by the those scenes and gives a little more depth to Neko who genuinely believed to be a cat to defend herself from the trauma and for Seri it shows her maturity to these kind of situation (and to some extend even Kusanagi's maturity as you talked about it with him apologising and covering his eyes) so I would like to thank for showing me a different way of looking at this. And as you said even if all of this wasn't intentional the characters simply are characterised brilliantly despite the ways in which they are shown. I would also like to talk about how the kings are not really chosed at random as there were stated at some point that they are chosed by fate which I believe it gives more meaning of the roles they are playing (basically their fate was to be kings and play their roles as kings of order, change etc. ) looking at the kings being chosen like this it gives more depth to characters like Kagutsu since in Memory of Red movie Mikoto is shown to be trapped in a cage his whole life as King and Munakata states that the outside of that cage is no place for the humans to enter I believe we can see that "outside of the cage" that Kagutsu was present in as true freedom, he chosed to break through human limits and reach a state that goes against the role fate chosen him for therefore becoming an uncontroled natural disaster, Mikoto lived knowing that true freedom can be reached but also with the knowledge that in doing so he will kill all the people he cares for. And I believe this complements his story clearly influenced by depression as you said but also it makes Anna's awakening as a king (which is pretty much my favorite moment in fiction) all the more meaningful as she changes/restores in a way the fate of the red king with all she learned from Mikoto and Totsuka turning the role of the red king and its power into protection as Totsuka kept talking about! I completely agree with your point on Shiro and I would even add that he is a decunstruction of the highschooler protagonist as even in the first episodes he is shown being not only a realistic highschool boy but also a smart and capable to adapt on the fly at new sitations! I would praise you for comenting on Fushimi's character and how much it works with Yata without having to turn them into a ship I would even say that their story is brilliant when you see them as two boys with troubled childhoods building a friendship based on escapism. And even the father of Saurihiko, Niki is actually quite complex as shown in the fragments of ground zero light novel where it's revealed that despite his many psychological problems he really cares very much in a very twisted way about his son (as shown even when he was beaten down and robbed after some events when the Kagutsu incident happened he rushed as fast as he could with his injured body to Saruhiko hoping he was safe) Another thing worth mentioning is the very power system in general, as you presented your points about the shared trauma and family I cannot not think about how the power of the kings is actually a metaphor for all the shared experiences, common hobbies and ideals that draw humans to each other espeacially since clans like Homura or Jungle form a community/family for people who feel like don't belong to the society they live in and each one of their clansmen find reason for their life in the clans. To end this whole comment I would like to mention how we could be talking about the character of each king and clansmen and all the themes and tones and ideologies of the story endlessly, like you barely talked about Nagare (which is very reasonable as it is already a very long video) and me myself didn't found the time to introduce him in my ''little'' essay here despite finding him my favourite character in the anime (with Anna being a very close second) and one of my favorite antagonists of all time perfectly mirroring the story of the most characters in the show while offering many valid reasons for what he does and questions for the real life but to conclude K project has so much more depth in the stories and characters they present that we can all talk about them forever XD

Truly a wonderful comment!!! I love how thoughtful your ideas are presented!! For the fan service, I need a bit of hope when looking at it to help me digest it, but I will admit it is not as bad as other animes I've seen. Your point about fate is very interesting and an angle I didn't consider, but I really like that take!! I also absolutely adore Nagare and could go on about him, especially Dream of Green. All in all, I'd talk about K any day and all day! It truly means so much to me as it does to you!! So glad to have this little space to discuss it 🥺🥰🙏

I am absolutely obsessed with the tribute style videos. Can not get enough, I have collected hundreds possibly thousands. Anime tributes with great editing, genuine stories and dialogue, and done in the English audio are beyond rare! I have loved K since 2012, got into tribute edits back 2017 and look for videos for all my favorite stories frequently. I have been looking for K tributes forever now & yours are the 1st English ones I’ve found. About 2 weeks ago I discovered your Chanel and the {Mikoto & Anna Red King Tribute} & {Yata & Fushimi Parters Tribute}. They made my day, week, month & year! Thank you, as the story of our Kings has been deeply profound in my life! I am looking forward to your further creations and hope to see more trailers & a future Silver, Green, Red/Blue tributes. Sincerely devoted Red Clansmen & Vassal of the 3rd & Red Kings, Mikoto Suo & Anna Kushina!
