I am descendant of the old Austrian Empire, from it's slav part, where people mixed and lived: multicultural, multilingual and, for the era, with a good standard of life, much better than the close by Italy as many italians immigrated for job opportunities and for a better standard of life, of course, as my grand father (from Venice), who built a family with an austrian (from Gorizia) wife and four sons, one of them my father, born in Trieste in 1912. From my mother side, they were imperial citizens, austrian, slovenians, croats and, living in a multilingual ambient, polyglottes proficient in the languanges of the territory (croat, slovenian, italian, and the common lingua franca, the dialect from Venice's centuries old influence). All of this is finished for ever and for a worse world. So I contest your disclaimer: your music is very political and I am driven by it. Spartaco Giacometti, from Italy. I appreciate it very much. Thanks for your effort.

I mean, I'm Austrian too from the far South, but that is kind of why the empire broke apart, too many differences culturally and nobody holding together when it came down to it. I fear we messed up this multi culti experiment a long time ago :(

@@TheDragiix3 A multi-cultural country is very hard to pull off when it isn't a melting pot. America is.. well, America is America, but let's just say it 'works' to an extent because there's little ethnic identity within its borders.

Hell yeah I love hearing these marches/folk songs. In currently learning German and hearing their traditional music, besides their great classical music, this really is helping me get more cultivated with the language and regions. Thank you!

Little nitpicking about the translation: "blanke Klingen" is translated with bright blades. I think bare blades would be more fitting as this part in the sond is less about the blades looking shiny but more about them being unsheathed and drawn for an attack. And at the end the part with "Mein Buam und's Kärntnerland": while you are correct that in austria Bua or Buam is used for ones son as well, in this case boy would fit better, as the girl isn't worried about her son but about her boyfriend. Otherwise the german text would have not said "Dirndle" bit something like "Muaterl".
