Technology is cool, but looking at all the spaghetti mess of wires for sensors and such on those machines makes you really appreciate the simplicity of a DR or RE, or even the Iron in comparison. Happy Hump Day! Peace and love.

Ahh starter clutch. The one in my 96 Trophy went. Have to pull the motor and split the cases to get to it. That K16 looks so much easier. I'd of done it by now if the Trophy were that easy. Need a Smoak in my neighborhood to trust it to!

Great Tour of the K1600 innards! I've a first year K1600 and have watched a lot of videos, but never had that view. Thanks for the tour.

Always a pleasure to watch a Smoak day. Shawn took the Low Rider out for it's first FP3 install inaugural run, wow what a difference even on a stock bike, smoother, more responsive and maybe even a bit more oomph! Thanks guys.

I enjoy the tech talk. But nothing beats the ride feeling we get when all is well again. Nothing beats 2 or 3 wheeling. 🏍🏍

Hi there Shawn and Kelly thanks for the great tech day, when we picked our F3 LTD up from the dealership brand new the ride was awful it was twichey and harsh ,They had put 28 PSI in the front tyres ,when I asked him why he said people preferred them that way, we didn't after setting them to 15 PSI as the manufacturer recommended it was a different machine much better, thanks for the great Vlog take care see you tomorrow 😀👍🇬🇧 Rob and Lynne.

We have something similar on the turning gear drive of our steam turbines. The big difference, and it's not just size, is the time to get replacement parts and cost, then factor in down time, delivery schedule, replacement time plus labour. Cost us just over $3m to repair one and took 3mths.

I had my 32,000 KM valve service on my Trophy SE the poor mechanic said as much as he likes the bike he hates working on them because of all the fairing and plastic that has to come off!!!! I'm torn between the K1600 Grand America, Honda Gold Wing or an Indian Challenger with a tour pack for next year !!!! Still waiting to see if BMW makes a full dresser version of the R18. I have seen some spy shots of it on line with full hard bag's, Fairing and tour pack for the wifey!!!

Mine 2018 K1600 GTL starter sprag has failed almost completely. I've already had it replaced under warranty when it started failing around 3k miles (bought the bike new with 0 miles). Now with 19700 miles I can rarely get it to start when cold. Asking BMW for a good-will fix out of warranty.

The starter clutch doesn’t look like a job for the do it yourself kind of person, I’m sure it’s not a cheap repair! People are going to do what they want to do when it comes to their machines! Hope all is well!👍🏻

I’m really surprised my head is not the size of a basketball. I’ve learned a lot of stuff from you. Stuff that I will never partake in doing. I guess knowledge is power. Power enough to let you techs handle it. Lol!! I tell you I would not want to be inside the brain of the person who is responsible for todays Beamer. They have got to be slightly ragged upstairs don’t ‘cha think? Stay safe and stay on top of that Beamer. Your peeps really like you WHOLE and fully functional👍🏾

The other factor is temperature. As tire temp goes up, pressure does as well. So if you set to max cold, it will be over max hot. So the question I would have is, is the max pressure cold or hot or not mentioned? That said, if I ran what BMW said I should, my tires would cup bad and wear out too soon, but I am bigger than the average rider BMW had in mind.

The more you show the K1600's the more convinced I am they're just cars on two wheels.
