Thanks. Some of these competitions are long and brutal. I obviously dramatised a bit, but yeah, looks like it got done in for a bit.

Thank you very much. It is very difficult to get consistent information on the Ka-50

Amazing documentary. Didn't know much about the shark's history and just assumed that it was another late-soviet prototype that failed to gain traction before the collapse.

This must've taken A LOT of work. It's very interesting, definitely. Enjoyable too. I'm properly diving into the Werewolf now after a while, giving it the attention it deserves. It's extraordinarily well suited to It's role. Vikhr's are underrated as an ATGM, and the cannon is just an absolute beast. A 30mm sniper rifle.

I love this video! I want to learn more- what sources did you draw on to learn the history?

There are chunks from Gator on the Rise, which is probably the most convenient source of info (in English), but numerous books on all the helos mentioned as well as internet archives etc.

hey i was wondering if you have any tips or tricks to rapidly descend in the ka-50 whenever i try to descend rapidly i end up snapping my rotorblades off.
@volkvoort
Жыл бұрын
Nothing too fancy. You can or probably should corkscrew - i.e. instead of just pitching nose down and diving beyond speed limits or dropping collective and spiking your rotor RPMs with a vertical descent - have a combination of lower collective and nose down but then spiral downwards under the safer limits for speed and descent rate. When leveling out, of course be smooth & steady with your pitching up and increasing collective. Another possibility is keeping your collective position middle-ish, then banking closer to 90 degrees, thus falling sideways with your nose still pointed ahead - and gradually banking to get back level and stop losing altitude. Haven't toyed around yet with which of those is more/better/faster/safer.

Thanks. Thumbnail was just putting two AI's on a flight path, testing & restesting so they wouldn't be placed offset, slow motion and taking a few shots. First few shots would just have been static models placed dangerously close, played a bit with orientation then control-F11 flyby's, using mouse and sometimes headtracking.

"mawl guy"? In which sentence/context? All I can think of is Mi-Mil, as in the Mil design bureau.
