Some 44 endangered black-flanked rock wallabies received a taste of the VIP lifestyle recently when they were whisked by private charter plane from a Wheatbelt Nature Reserve to a stunning new abode in the Kalbarri National Park.
The Wheatbelt wallabies will further bolster the Kalbarri wallaby population, which was once thought extinct until feral animal control and translocations enabled the wallabies to flourish in Kalbarri once more.
The success of the Kalbarri rock wallaby program makes it one of WA's great conservation success stories.
