I can’t decide between this and the Behmor!!! Good video

If you might want to do dark roasts then the Kaldi might be better. I looked at the Behmor. It is very convenient being complete as you do not have to purchase a gas stove as well. The Kaldi suits me because it is bullet proof and I like that sort of thing. My brother has a Hottop and he is very pleased with that.

cool video have you had any success achieving dark roasts with this machine?
@swansong7090

I think it is very good for dark roasts. Using gas it gets plenty hot and is very responsive. My brother has a Hottop and while ago we both tried very dark roasts. I had no trouble going past second crack. Neither of us particularly like dark roasts as the finer fruity flavours seem to get lost.

@@swansong7090 would you consider this roaster for small businesses? :)
@swansong7090
2 жыл бұрын
@@freshpots8727 No, not really. It only roasts 300 gram at a time and that is only around 250 gram after roasting. I fact, if they were no so expensive, I would prefer a bigger roaster for my wife and I.

Hey, what is the tray that you have to cool the beans? Where can I get this?

Thanks for the video. It was helpful. Please leave the writing on the screen longer. Multiple times I had to stop the video and rewind it to read again what was said. Once I had to play it three times.

Hi, which espresso machine is in your video?

It is an Isomac HX machine. I have had it for years and love it. I also use a La Pavoni Stradivari and I think Isomac make that as well.

It is an Isomat Tea. The have one with a PID now to give more precise boiler temp control than my quite old model.

Hope all went well. I find I like a quite like mild roast with a little bit of white still showing in the seam that runs down center of a few beans. I am not sure if that white bit is significant.

Nice work! Brew your coffee after 1-2 weeks (for espresso), two days later is two soon and the taste is not clean because the beans needed degas ! More roasted coffee = More days degas.

Yes I am sure you are right. I tend to prefer a light roast to get the fruity flavours through and I keep meaning to try 7 to 10 days. I only roast about 280 to 300 grams at a time and I get impatient!

Isn't gas exactly what you want? The crema is caused by the co2 gas, right?

Yes, it was only thinking for myself, anyway, one can roast well on any equipment, but I would modify this roaster by using probes and ARTISAN or another software.Otherwise it is simply try and error.

@@erharddinges8855 Yes you are right in many ways but coffee will always be something of an art form as there are so many variables. I like to control my roast using sight, sound and smell. I like to believe you gain a skill this way but regardless I do get an excellent cup of coffee.
