I have the joe jr too (my son calls it the tiny joe). It’s an amazing little smoker and a great daily driver for a family of four. Comes up to temp super fast for grilling and holds it stead for low and slow. It’s a great little guy.

Appreciate the feedback but like to be transparent on my partnership with KJ. I definitely could have sped a portion of the video up. You'll find most of my content gets straight to the point. If your interested in joe junior video check this one out plus have a lot of recipe videos with it! kzitem.info/news/bejne/rKeLqHd-gJ9epGk

Got my today. It was damaged. The handle was broken off and the styrofoam was all apart. Also, the smoke cap was out of the box. Otherwise, no other apparent damaged.

I'm sorry to hear you had a few things damaged. Be sure to contact Kamado Joe directly or the place you ordered it from directly. The handle screws on so I would see if it is able to go back in. The top vent cap should slide right back on.

Not worth the money. My 18.5 wsm with upgraded basket and thermal blanket which was 300.00 dollars. So 700.00 dollars I have a grill that costs less and out performs any komado.

Thanks for sharing! WSN has a great spot in the bbq community with a lot of well thought out features at a great price, no doubt. Too me, that is more comparable to my Pit Barrel Smoker being a barrel shaped. IMO, it's a matter of preference. I like how my KJ performs compared to other smokers I have. I also like certain grills for certain things I think it does great at...like pbc like hanging food. I can't speak to a comparison of performance as I haven't cooked on a smokey mountain. I have cooked on a standard weber kettle. Thanks for sharing your perspective, as long as we are cooking bbq, that's what it's all about!

@@BartlowsBBQ I'd go KJ all day long, that little junior is not to be underestimated. Can't comment on the wsm as never tried one but the Joe Jr is in another level for such a small bbq. That along side the big Joe is the perfect duo.

Coming from a guy who owns both, The WSM CAN do chicken, CAN do burgers..but you have to remove the middle section, modify it so the grates are close to the coals etc., it was designed for inferior charcoal, cleanup is a nightmare and it doesn’t fare well in wind so you need to buy or build some kind of a wind block. Kamados just don’t really have these issues and they’re MORE versatile than a WSM right out of the box. The WSM is a great smoker and everyone has their preferences, but imo - there’s nothing the WSM can do that the Kamados can’t do better and easier with similar or better results.

I have the 18” wsm and the Joe jr. Very different cooking experience, both are excellent cookers and would not give up either. I would agree $400 is a lot for the jr, I found mine on Walmarts website for $220. Couldn’t pass that price up.
