i think usman has always been around 190 out of camp , he stays super lean out of camp so him cutting from 190 to 170 is still a big ass cut . ive met him in summer of 2021 after his masvidal fight and i asked his weight and he said he was around 190 but i didnt believe him 😂 were around the same size but i was like 210 at the time getting ready to make 185 for a tourney 8 weeks away and i couldnt believe i was 20 lbs more than him . definitely a big welterweight and i doubt he could make 165

BS on that claim Usman has only touched 200lbs once, and walks around at 190. Tony Ferguson walks around at nearly 200lbs. Michael Chandler walks around 190, and when I saw them train together Usman looked WAAY bigger than him. Poirier walks around 180-190.

GSP was already long retired when Conor became 155 champ. He returned the following year but to go UP, and gained weight so would have been impossible to make 155. He had a legit shot in his prime though, he fought BJ Penn twice at 170 and beat him twice.

Would have been a great fight. I don’t know who to pick. Maybe GSP. He always has the best game plan and could out wrestle the best D1 wrestlers. He’d have his hands full with Usman for sure.

It's like a bodybuilder at light heavyweight division will compete at 200lbs, but off season, they weigh 220. When they dry up, they'll look more muscular and vascular. Same with fighters. When fighters dry up they look heavier.

For context of welterweights, as a competitor myself and a fan, Im not a welterweight, my fights have all been featherweight and lightweight, but Im the same height as matt serra, and ive met guys like carlos condit and condit dwarfed me. After meeting him in person I was just like damn man that length in that weight class is crazy.
