Hi Jerry. Great model railway and great video. Rails of Sheffield do offer good value. As someone else pointed out your sleeping car is the model representing the early BR era just after nationalisation and prior to them being repainted into blood and custard livery hence them looking darker and not as glossy. These early BR versions were also included in a few of their train packs a few years ago. One was a representation of an express train with A4 Kingfisher in early BR blue livery. The other a representation of a suburban train with an N2 loco circa 1948 which was one of their Olympic train packs released in 2012. I dont think the LNER sleeping car is currently available in the range. They are lovely models.

The teak finish is exquisite on these. Its nice to see they have rectified the grain direction on the doors. The 1st and 2nd releases had the grain vertical on the doors. Its still a shame that the tumble home is still not as predominant as it should be. I had loads of these when they first came out, but slowly replacing them with brass models. More accurate, and there is a greater choice, especially when building a scale model of the Flying Scotsman, including triplet diner and ladies hair salon. You are definitely right though, they are a vast improvement on the original versions. Keep the videos coming. I am building stock ready for my layout of a lifetime, "Newcastle Central Station" As yet I don't have any layout built yet but stock building until I have my new Shed built, so love to watch what other people are doing.

That does sound amazing. Hats off to the brass kit brigade, they are to be admired and something I could never achieve I dont think. You description of the coaches, triplet diner etc really evoques thoughts of a better day on the railways.....probably not true really. Thanks for the insight and all the best with your brass collection. Best. Jerry

@@jerryallen34 I do solder in my job which makes it easier to tackle more complicated kits, but I thought I couldn't build quality kits, but give it a go. If you can solder, then that's half the battle. Just keep practicing on scrap off cuts of brass at various thickness. As for painting and prep, I started with 5 old hornby double tin plate models. The good thing about using these are you can strip them off time and time again and practice airbrushing, masking, lining. The skies the limit.

Errrrrr ummm when I had my model railway collection I errrrrr ummmm 'ad about 2 dozen of 'em in rakes of 8. 1 set a sleeper and 2 sets everything else. Yes! They are luuuuuvely coaches, the sleeper you have is post nationalisation before the paint sprayers got to it! Notice the LNER markings are missing and the grey roof! Hence the yucky dirty brown! The new BR at the time didn't know what TLC was! Great video! What I did wiv my rakes was change the couplings to the Roco/Hornby close coupling ones and the gap between the coaches really closed up, do not worry the coaches push themseves apart when going round curves, more realistic. Also they should be able to cope with yr ducking and diving boards. Just an idea! 😊😊😊

Just a suggestion, but I remember seeing LNER teak full brakes running in blue and grey back in 1973 (used on parcels trains in East Anglia).
