They are very similar yet very different. Kansas is little more edgy while Nebraska is more chill. Kansas *practically* invented Sunflowers while Nebraska created Arbor Day. They may occasionally throw insults and jokes, but at the end of the day when a Kansa and Nebraska meet they instantly click. They just get each other like nobody else. What up, y’all? Wichitan here. Just wanted to say that Wichita “proper” is the 51st most populated city in America-and including our suburbs, our population is even higher at over 644,000 (as of 2018). We are not a small farm town! Please stop assuming that when we visit you!

Wichita is not small, but metro Wichita is still way smaller than just the Kansas side of metro KC. While more than half of the metro of KC is in Missouri, the Kansas side of KC is around a million people.

The Iowa and Nebraska rivalry is basically only on game day. Even then, the day highlights our "Heros" of our states. This includes military, police, fire and rescue, and even normal citizens that arose to help in bad times. It definitely has nothing near the sour feelings of the Nebraska/ Colorado rivalry of the past.

As a native Texan, I have to remain neutral on the Kansas and Nebraska comparison. I have some relatives who live in both states. I travel throughout the entire U.S., mostly over the road. (No, I am not a truck driver.) It is not unusual for me to crisscross the country. Both the West and East Coasts are heavily populated and congested. It's a pleasure driving through KS (I-70) and NE (I-80), where it's not congested and a whole lot of wide, open spaces. I give both Kansas and Nebraska a thumbs up. Now, that should make my relatives happy with me.

Omg I go to Emporia State University too! Stingers up my dude 🤙🏻 Edit: I also work at the Freddy’s in Emporia and don’t forget - Kansas also has Spangles and Superman! As well as the worlds largest coal shovel, Big Brutus, and the worlds largest ball of twine (not exactly all that cool but hey world records I guess 🤷🏼♀️) We also have the town that directly inspired Radiator Springs as seen in the Pixar movie “Cars”. Some other fun facts: Cherry pie a la mode was once illegal here (for some reason 🤦🏼♀️). The literal windiest city in the world is Dodge City, Kansas. And perhaps the fact that I’m most proud of even though I don’t belong to this community, the town of Nicodemus was founded by newly freed slaves in 1877 and was the first all African-American town west of the Mississippi. And it’s the only one that is still an existing town today. It’s is actually a national historical site. ☺️
