In case you're wondering (like I was), Yuzu bath is a Japanese tradition wherein a fragrant citrus fruit called Yuzu is put in the water to enhance the experience. It's believed to help ward off colds. From the looks of it, it seems that the capybaras are really enjoying their Yuzu bath.

In fact, capybaras are originally from South America. More precisely, Brazil. We have tens of thousands of them walking freely down the street. Japanese people are only obsessed with them, but they are from here!

These are not oranges but very piney and tart citrus called Yuzu, a native to Japan. Yuzu peel is not bitter actually like oranges and lemons but very fragrant. Inside there’re tons of seeds and very tart and extremely sour juice. Juice is again fragrant like pine and lemon cross only more fragrant but we consume the peel and not the inside flesh. These animals don’t consume citrus but those dark green skinned Japanese pumpkin and yeah apples floating in there. The Yuzu fruits are to scent the bath and to ward off cold.
I don't understand... WHY ARE THERE ORANGES ON THEIR HEADS?!

Her name is "Sakura" She is the oldest capybara in the Nasu Animal Kingdom. The gray eyes inherited from her mother's “Komari (Saitama Children's Animal Nature Park)” are attractive! The bath is about 41 ℃ It is a natural hot spring that springs out of the volcano in Nasu.

No they don’t eat citrus these are to scent the bath, it’s a traditional Japanese bath taken in winter during winter months to warm you up and to ward off cold. It’s actually Yuzu, originally in Japanese and a fruit native to Japan. Yuja is Korean but it’s taken from Japan during colonization era. Anyways it’s too tart for them to eat Yuzu. They eat pumpkins and apples floating in there. But Yuzu is to scent the bath as the peel is very fragrant more fragrant than lemon.

Why do they put oranges in the bath? Never seen them eating oranges. Is it for smell nice?
@mistreedurham3330

I remember reading somewhere that it's a "yuzu" bath. The aroma is apparently usually part of it, as well as good blood circulation, vitamin c, skin softening, relieving stress, and preventing aches and colds. I guess it's also for good fortune at the beginning of the year. Of course i'm not sure as to what reason they have for putting it in the capybaras baths, but since i've never seen them eat the citrus either I can only assume it's for something cute like any of the above reasons. ❤

In Japan, there is a legend that if you take a bath with yuzu (Citrus junos) on the winter solstice, you will not catch a cold for one year. And "Capybara no Yuzuyu" (capybara’s yuzu bath) puts the wish that the capybaras are healthy.

There's also a comment I read on another capybara video, one zoo actually built them a bigger bath, but they didn't like it and continued to crowd together in the small one instead. So it might also be some animal instinct to always be in large groups for them.
