I had the honor and privilege of meeting and speaking with Demura Sensei at the Arnold Fitness Festival here in Columbus a few years back. He was kind enough to share insights on training and even signed my TaeKwonDo book written by Gen Choi Hong Hi.....Humble man and Outstanding human being!!!!!!!

At 2:40 Demura sensei mentions the 4 main okinawan karate styles, but I couldn't hear well one of them. He says "Shorin ryu, ........, Uechi ryu and Isshon ryu". What's the 2nd that he mentions?

How Karate came from India>China>Japan?
@TKDLION

It didn’t really. Some form of martial arts spread along that path, but Indian martial arts have little in common with karate.

It’s an old belief. More legend or myth now.

The name and style of martial art, karate, developed in Okinawa, but its origins run deep into the Chinese martial arts which were influenced by India in some ways. There is truth in his history, but it is like lots of martial arts, changes and influences come from many

@@TKDLION I recently saw some Indian martial arts that look similar to Chinese Kung Fu. I’m sorry, but I don’t remember the name-I should have written it down. It was very active and fluid. The participants were very limber.
