As a Martial Artist (Wing Chun, and some others), I also trained to stand and walk on my toes.. as well as to kick the wall mounted sandbags with my bare toes (I also kicked the Heavy bag with this too). These "Stabbing Kicks" can be very effective. I once sparred a Kyokushin Karate teacher. I noticed his lead leg was "Open", so I shot a stabbing kick to his inner thigh muscles. This caused him to partially buckle forwards, and he was temporarily unable to move. As such, I stepped in with a flurry of handstrikes... He stopped sparring after this, and asked what the Heck I did, and what it was called. I told him that I believe I had seen in performed from Shaolin Monks, and that I called it a Toe Stabbing Kick. He told me about the effects... that it was sort of like a very intense "Charlie Horse" (Severe Cramping type of effect). He said, it was so bad... that he was unable to move his leg for a few moments. He was so impressed that he asked that I help train his students. They competed regularly, and I suspect that he was looking for Advantages to be used in their Tournaments. I politely declined, as I was too busy. Anyway... if you want to be able to kick with the Toes... your foot and toes need to be very strong and very well "Conditioned", so that they will not get Broken when they make a strong impact. The ankle needs to be strong too... to prevent it from bending / collapsing, on impact. The Toe Stabbing kick is like a Finger Strike. Its precise, lightning fast, and can penetrate the OPs tissues.. very deep. You also get an extended Range, by extending your foot like that. Some of the places I use it... Are the Inner Thigh, The inner Crease of the Hips, Groin, Abdomen, and you could even target the OPs neck / throat with it.
