I just turned 57 and look fine. Walk with me 20 steps and you'll see why i have mine. Sadly malls don't have shipping carts for me to lean on when i need to. That's why i no longer go to them (tried - barely made it in the door). Took about an hour and a half to walk in and get to the first store after Macy's. Smelled like they had a perfume battle and that did it. Almost had to call for help (at least someone that could get a wheelchair for me and get me the hell out of there) Stage 3 copd and a screwed up spine changes your life. I've had my placard and been on disability since i was in my late 30s. Don't ever judge a book by its cover. What passed me of though is when I'm waiting for a spot to park in and someone comes from the other way and takes it - then they run (literally) into the store! I put my day on hold and trap them in so i can make their day take a little longer since they're in such a rush. They don't like me afterwards - but hopefully they get the hint to quit using someone else's disability for their benefit

The day a Karen takes my disability plaque is the day she will go go to jail. I don't look disabled but I have neuropathy and fibromyalgia and some days it's hard for me to walk. Don't judge people, please!! It's bad enough my family thinks I'm just lazy. I don't need a stranger to get involved.

People used to do stuff like this to my husband. Observant people might not have known exactly why he was limping, but could tell his walk want quite normal. He actually got to where if he had to go shopping, he'd leave his leg at home and use his crutches. They would also approach me for parking in a NON handicap spot with I had to drive his car with his handicap license plate. People live to complain.
