@BubbleBelly The prosecution absolutely should not bring a case to trial if they do not think they have a chance of success. Most importantly due to double jeopardy. If they throw together a shoddy case on a hunch and the defendant is found not guilty then that is it. The defendant cannot be tried for the same crimes for the same occurrence ever again. I don't think Read is guilty. But it would be a serious miscarriage of justice if she did do it, this horrible trial gave the jury no chance but to have reasonable doubt and vote not guilty, and if Read was actually guilty and new evidence turned up proving it (or a better case could have been presented) but Read was now immune to prosecution on the matter. Again, I think Read is not guilty and in fact lean towards Read being innocent, but this hypothetical is why you don't just rush into prosecuting someone. Furthermore, the U.S. courts are so bogged down that throwing up shams of trials only delays and postpones the trials of others. This trial is going to take about 2 months. A courtroom full of staff are together spending thousands of hours on a trial that apparently had no just reason for coming forward, and instead this time could be spent putting other cases to rest

Mrs. McCabe's cross was interesting, but so FRUSTRATING. I could not stand her blaming everyone else for when her testimony appeared inconsistent. DAY 15 - Her daughter went straight home, Jen doesn't care what the phone app data says - She said she saw the jeep with the snow plow, Proctor recorded her incorrectly in his report - She said she saw a cracked tailight, Proctor recorded her wrong when he wrote Jen said "tailight with a crack in it" - She called Nicole twice but Nicole didn't pick up, Jen doesn't care if the phone data says it connected - She heard Read declare "I hit him" to several cops and an EMT, and does not care if her grand jury testimony (closer to the time of the actual incident when her memory was fresher) says otherwise. - She did not hear any part of Carrie's call, then she says she could hear voices but couldn't tell what was being said, then she is confronted with texts where she tells her "circle" that Carrie is saying "EVERYTHING!!", and still tries to play it off like her testimony was consistent. - Edit: Thanks to your recap - She did not delete any phonecall records to O'Keefe or Brian Albert, and she doesn't care what the extracted data says. DAY 16 - Officer Lank recorded her incorrectly when he came back for the specific purpose of recording something she heard Read say. Trust McCabe's memory 2.5 years later, not a recorded statement from hours after the incident. - Although all the other phone data from the morning of the 29th may be correct, she did not search for "How long to die in the cold" at about 0230 and delete the search, even though everything else on the report is accurate and she agrees with it. And during all this she has the gall to sit there with a condescending tone while being wide eyed and flabbergasted that the defense does not believe her. As if it should be obvious that we should just ignore all these inconsistencies and only believe what she is saying now in spite of these contradictions. She seemed genuinely offended that these dumb defense attorneys did not believe her narrative. I absolutely detest the harassment that members of the public put her and her family through, and do not want to dogpile on or encourage any of that. But my goodness do I hope I am never forced to talk to anyone so oblivious to how they come across when what they say is compared to contrary evidence.

Yes and don’t forget the timing of the change in testimony from “did I hit him?” To “I hit him” was two months after news broke that she had googled “Hos long to die in cold”. Throwing everyone under the bus except her direct family when asked (after obviously having watched their testimony). Eg. Denying Julie Nagel’s statement of dark blob, who she had asked for a screenshot of her text timing with her brother and likely encouraging Julie’s story of “the dark blob” just after September 2022 when Alan Jackson started on the case and had it televised. How convenient to have Julie dogsit just after the incident. Throwing Kerry under the bus. Throwing everyone under the bus when caught in a lie. Having multiple interviews with witnesses at her home so she could listen. Checking in with investigators and “helping”. I wanted to throw up after watching her yesterday. Idk how this trial can continue. I’m Waiting for the defense to have that Elle Woods moment of “Chutney, your curls are still intact”

The blatant shaming and manipulation of Karen's trauma response is just gross... even if she said something to the effect of "I hit him" it was the only logical conclusion based on the facts she had immediately after finding her bf missing then deceased, it's kind of a logical conclusion until you dig into the actual facts, none of which she had at the time. Just gross they're trying to use her pain and confusion in those moments as the end all be all of what must of happened despite any other evidence that comes out later... it is far fetched 15 people covered up for the murder of a Canton cop, but at this point, it's more far-fetched to believe John was hit by Karen's car or any car... it's an unbelievable case for sure

My thoughts exactly listening to this testimony - her incredible urge to recount “Kerrie Robert’s shocking statement” was so incredibly childish and offensive and wildly inappropriate that it was shocking. The fact that Lally thinks it is acceptable to have this gaggle of aging mean girls viciously gossip about Karen and that their mean gossip counts as “evidence” for a murder trial is vile (the Aruba bishes were frankly unbelievable with their catty AF statements about Karen and the second witness using explicit language to describe her obvious hatred and jealousy re Karen). I thought this witness’s statements were appalling re Karen’s completely understandable response to finding John on the lawn. It’s honestly heartbreaking to me to think of Karen looking for any comfort from these bishes and they were telling her to shut up etc, and then they started lying about her statements.Gross.

She was apparently bating or taunting Karen on the way to where they found John. Suggesting to Karen that John was with another woman. Who does something like that? Jen McCabe was triangulating people including her own children. According to Turtle boy, who Jen brought up, there was no nasty picture sent to Jen’s daughter. He says that was a complete lie. The magic Jeep that only Jen and her husband saw seems to have been invented to place a car in a place that would obstruct vision into Karen’s car. Which would mean that the witnesses who saw Karen alone in the car (which would mean John had left the car and gone into the house) these witnesses could be challenged. Apparently only Jen should be believed. According to her no report or data is correct. This woman is maddening.

It’s super coincidental if not bordering unbelievable that they all happened to be looking outside at just the right moments multiple times in that 18-minute window.

According to Jenn McCabe, not only are troopers wronv about what she said during an interview, technology is wrong too!.. Jenn was obtuse. She was evasive and argumentative. I was surprised the judge didnt admonish her for her behavior. No wonder she has taken the place of Amber Heard in being the number one most despised woman in America.. Although i think harrassing someone isnt the right thing to do, i certainly understand why the public harrasses her. She shot herself in the foot with her appaling behavior on the stand. I hope she doesnt take the stand again, ive had more than enough of her vile behavior. And i thought her hubby was bad on the stand, she made him look like an angel. Jenn out right purgered herself..

Love love love your channel! Great summary of this testimony!! This witness and the two Aruba bishes the next day would have deeply offended me if I were on this jury. The collection of unbelievably catty comments was *SO* inappropriate at a murder trial. The Aruba witnesses frankly mad me angry - both of them gossiping that it was somehow “wrong” of Karen to pay for the group’s dinner out or the couple choosing to spend time together rather than out with the big group. John wanted to spend time with Karen, and those two hated it as they obviously had a crush on him. The second Aruba witness was offensive as she used explicit language (as in the eff word multiple times and without any warning or normal apologizing etc) freely as she slandered Karen, and then her very loudly proclaiming that she told her sister the Aruba twin that “Karen? She SUX!” like she was somehow proud of this judgment and that her judgment should put Karen in jail for murder was beyond anything I’ve seen before at a trial. 🤮 🤮 Both of the “Aruba twins” as I am calling them were clearly extremely jealous of Karen (her paying for dinner and paying for one of their hotel rooms outraged them for some completely bizarre reason) as they had obvious crushes on John, and Aunt Bev allowing that stupid Aruba gossip into a murder trial as an indication of John’s state of mind (what?!) a month before the supposed “murder” should be grounds for an immediate overturn *if* this jury somehow convicts. Bev adopted a bizarre sarcastic tone as she instructed the jury not to use the statements as “evidence of bad character” yet the gossip, and it was gossip, served no other purpose. What a gaggle of pathetic insecure aging mean girls!

Honestly, Jen McCabe seems to be the town gossip, which is why she can’t understand that talking to all the people she did really muddied the waters and made investigating impossible. Regardless of what happened, this small-town parochial behaviour means no one will get clear answers. I grew up in a small town and people love nothing more than telling you something you don’t know. Even if the Alberts and McCabes weren’t covering their own asses (which I’m still on the fence about), they closed ranks and everyone else be damned. IF Karen Read did anything (and I’m WAY over the side of reasonable doubt), it’s so far outside of the bounds of intentional that I don’t think she should be convicted of any of the current charges.

Me too. And my dad can diagnose them. I have to rewatch the testimony. (Maybe ask dad to watch, too). It’s hard to tell at some points if it’s the npd delight in one-upping or psychopath delight in others pain. But at one point towards the end of cross or re-cross on day 16, her reaction made me feel like vomiting. It felt more than just mean spirited. The part where Alan Jackson makes a mistake and has to go back to look for a text or something. Have to watch her pupils to see if they dilate on my big screen. Wasn’t just cross examination either. Her direct examination was revealing too.
@Patsanford220

Me too!!!! If you’ve ever had the horrible misfortune of being a victim of a cluster B person’s craziness, you have gained a superpower of being able to identify others with cluster b traits. Cluster b is such a cluster f*k because most often people have a combination of different CB disorder traits, but they’ll be diagnosed with one being dominant. Jen certainly fits the bill for NPD, BPD, but most especially Histrionic personality disorder, in my opinion. The need to create and inflame drama and be the controller of everything, the permanent victim complex, throwing tantrums when she’s not acknowledged as the queen bee and best person ever, virtue signaling, etc etc. HPD also includes narcissism as do all the CB disorders. I see a lot of cluster b among the Mcalberts. It’s like a combo platter of toxic personalities!

@@Patsanford220 I’m so sorry you were feeling it too :( I’m weirdly glad more folks are recognizing the behavior now though. I experienced some of this (more covert) from my mom. After learning about these traits and behaviors more it floored me and I wish more folks knew what to look for. My heart goes out to anyone who has had to deal with it 💕 What I perceive in JM is a heavy disregard for rules and feedback (rejection sensitivity) and disrespect for authority along with a glaring lack of empathy and sense of entitlement. And I mean obviously the DARVO and emotional volatility. My heart breaks for her children because honestly I kinda saw the superiority and contempt in her husband too. It amazes me because most folks with these traits can at least keep it together in a public forum - they come off looking personable and social, and then behind closed doors it’s a nightmare. To see how bad JM is with an audience here, I am literally terrified by how bad she must be in private.

I obviously don’t know what happened to John O’Keefe. But I do think that it is strange for Ms Read to say “could I have hit him/did I hit him?” I do feel the investigation of this case to be very curious, there are so many discrepancies and conflicting details in official reports. I really can’t wait to see what the experts and forensics say. Whatever the outcome, it’s very sad that this guy is dead. From the testimony it seems he was an outstanding person, someone willing to go the extra mile for his family and friends. I feel for his family, they’ve had to deal with so much tragedy.

That audio clip of Karen screaming her friends names in the background is the most powerful piece of evidence I’ve seen yet. Essentially after hearing that I’m 100% convinced she didn’t hit him on purpose. This murder charge is radical. I can’t believe a grand jury let this prosecutor put this woman through this kind of hellish nightmare. Anybody who listens to that audio clip, and is prepared to interpret it honestly, can hear that these are the screams of a woman in a state of abject terror. I started to panic too, listening to her screaming. It’s deeply upsetting and unsettling to listen to. It’s blatantly obvious that this isn’t the fake screaming of a woman trying to build herself an alibi on tape. No- these are the screams of a woman who’s lost her mind with grief and despair and panic and helplessness.

She is so impossibly difficult to like that as a jury that would completely sink the prosecutions case. I won't swear, but everything coming out of her mouth may as well have been actual BS as I had a visceral reaction to her testimony. I don't believe a word she's saying, I think she's a horrific person, and the personality shift between both direct and cross was so striking that it's VERY clear she doesn't play ball with anyone brave enough to challenge her. I can't say how the jury genuinely feel, but for me I was already sincerely doubting the prosecutions case and now I've got a giant "Nope" on it. Short of something absolutely monumental coming out that can't be refuted, I don't think my view is changing. At the moment my guess is that a fight broke out at that house, someone beat him a little too hard, they all left him there assuming he'd get back up later as they were all drunk. John never came home, they realised he hadn't come home, panicked and now they're trying to cover up that SOMEONE is culpable. I don't know who is culpable, but at this point those injuries look more like he was battered and not that he was hit by a car so I don't think the prosecution necessarily framed her, but the brady bunch seem to be trying very hard to and failing at it.

All I know as of now is it snowed , they drank , Karen was hysterical and the only one showing any emotion that morning . The judge is so bias and doesn’t hide it ..
